ParkRun and Transgender record breaker

Trans runner (M to F) has smashed a woman’s record. Turns out he’s an attempted murderer too.

He attempted to murder the HR Manager of U.K. Athletics after he investigated his eligibility to compete as a woman. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lauren_Jeska )

I have enjoyed Parkrun on several occasions with my children, I’ll not be doing it again until they get this sorted. If at all.

Parkrun women's record held by transgender attempted murderer

Feminist activists outraged as it is revealed the fun run record is held by Lauren Jeska, who was given an 18-year sentence in 2017

When it comes to competitive sport, the government could act in a simple way to support fairness (and in some sports, safety). Many sports receive lottery funding or other sources of public funding. Make it conditional that anyone who has gone through male puberty is treated as a man when considering participation, records and other eligibility, before any funding can be given. Or that there is a third category.

Parkruns may not have public funding, but if other sports are all required to follow this, I think they would not wish to be an outlier.

I don't expect the government to do this though, because they just want to talk and not act.

Problem Pr have is no one can realistically check anyones entry details.

They could of course just have male, female and open categories, moving anyone who has entered the incorrect cat, to the correct one when or if errors found.

Instead, judging by their FB pages, they ve opened up a chorus of complaint.

I think you've hit the nail on the head here - parkrun DOES get funding from the likes of Sport England and it could well be they've been told they have to sort out the trans issue - they won't do that, so they take away most of the records and keep saying it's not a race. Similar could have happened in other countries too.

Maybe we just need a 'cis women' category (yes, I know people hate that term but was just using for clarity).

A bit like the 'super straight' sexual identity whereby you only fancy natal member of the opposite sex (TRAs were losing their shit over this).

can we go with 'actual.women' category? it's better clarity because it draws attention to the fact that TWANW
