To tell new lad this is my room

I know this is ridiculous but its really pissing me off Iv just started seeing someone new and he's been staying over and everything has been going great except I like to sleep with a fan on, the landing light on and the TV or something on my phone for background noise. he hates the fan and tv/phone being on he wants complete darkness and silence and wants to sleep with the window open. Aibu to tell him it's my room so it's tough 💩 how he likes to sleep.

Introducing children to a series of random men who you're been having sex with is not good parenting.

But my children don't know I shagging random men the majority of time their at their dads houses and when they are here I don't say this is my boyfriend or anything I'm just like this is my mate and their name and they don't think anything of it.

@gokarting

Why are you looking up and saying all her post / life history? That's not in relation to this thread - which is about sleeping - and quite frankly it's down right creepy and, I don't think acceptable behaviour actually.

Ionlydrinkondaysendinginy · 23/05/2023 10:35

I'm genuinely shocked that people sleep in pitch black houses with no background noise

Ah come on, no you're not🙄

I also remember OP's previous posts without having to search.

Poor kids.

I really think that you need some single time to work on yourself, your independence, self esteem and boundaries.

Please do a bit of research on the effects and risks of having bringing casual sexual partners into a home with children.

suchasocialhierachy · 23/05/2023 13:33

It is your place but I'd find that difficult.

You need to compromise.

I thought it was quite normal to sleep with a landing or hallway light on I thought most people did this

Generally I don’t think it is, but I’ve noticed round my area more and more people are leaving some lights on all night to deter burglars as there’s been quite a spate recently. Maybe it is more common these days especially in certain areas. Growing up/ past times we never did this though.

Well thats often the reality of trauma, addiction and mental illness but I'm still a person

I can only sleep in a dark room and complete quiet.

And that's where you work on yourself, as per some excellent advice given to you on here before. Bringing several men home can't be good for yours, or your children's, mental health.
