To tell new lad this is my room

Ionlydrinkondaysendinginy · 23/05/2023 10:20

I know this is ridiculous but its really pissing me off Iv just started seeing someone new and he's been staying over and everything has been going great except I like to sleep with a fan on, the landing light on and the TV or something on my phone for background noise. he hates the fan and tv/phone being on he wants complete darkness and silence and wants to sleep with the window open. Aibu to tell him it's my room so it's tough 💩 how he likes to sleep.

No I don't think its normal to not have sex for a year.

Wow. It is completely normal to not have sex with any random man who asks you out. It is also normal not to have sex for a year.

No I don't think its normal to never have had a drink with your child around.

No wonder your children are in care, if that's your attitude.

I even think most people have been arrested at least once in their lifetime.

Really? I've never been arrested. My husband has never been arrested. My children (all adults) have never been arrested.

I'm just trying to think if there are any friends or relatives of mine who have been arrested.........................nope.

We've drank together. He smokes weed but that's it

I expect you share it, despite saying earlier in the thread that you don't take non-prescription medication any more.

And you shouldn't be drinking! I thought you said your children always came first?

No, you're wrong there.

Most people on MN do not drink when they have charge of children.
I would bet on that, without bothering to start a thread.

TheShellBeach · 30/05/2023 17:09

Are you doing this on purpose now, for shock value?

Hmm

They don't down vodka, smoke weed and have unprotected sex with randoms.

This. Is. Not. Normal.

YANBU to tell him that if you want, it’s your room but you sound a total nightmare to share a sleeping space with.

Absolutely not.
I live in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere in Scotland.
Most people in my street are elderly.

There are younger people here but I have never smelt weed. And yes, I do know what it smells like - I was a midwife and psychiatric and general nurse for forty years, and I worked in a women's prison.

This is my exact point when I'm saying about the average person someone living in the middle of nowhere is not the average person

Nope. I'm 41 and have never been arrested.
Neither have any of my friends.

You're missing my point, OP.

I didn't always live here - we lived in various houses in London until about six years ago. Yes, I smelt weed there sometimes - but not out of my front door, I assure you.

But it was quite normal to just smell it in the street

I'm sorry for your struggles but it's very unusual for it not to be safe to have sex throughout a whole pregnancy. But would you really be surprised if your partner got it from somewhere else a year is a long time and I think its actually unfair to expect that of someone people have needs I couldn't do it and I wouldn't expect someone else to

Jesus wept.

It's not unfair to expect your partner not to have sex with other people because you can't due to short term medical issues.
I suffered from extreme morning sickness and could barely move let alone have sex when I was pregnant.....my husband was more concerned about my health and the health of our baby than having sex.

Name99 · 30/05/2023 17:21

OP how much intervention do SS have at the moment?
Are they aware of your drinking and relationships?

Short term is a few days not a year
