I’m just wondering who on earth cares? Can’t understand why this is such big news.

I do think these threads would go better if certain posters were ignored when they derail with their silly Sir Beers etc.

Well this isn't very nice, all a bit mean girls no?

Ignore the Sir Beers if you like but you know and I know the reason you want to ignore my other comments is because I'm always right.

I think it is fascinating that a prolific poster keeps posting about kids parties like repeatedly, several times a day. They never get a sniffy 'oh ignore them!' Do they? 🤔

Rhondaa · 27/05/2023 16:09

'You also acknowledge that namecalling is childish, which is more than the Tory fangirls have managed.'

Name calling is childish! But if Labour 'fangirls' can do it then so can everyone else.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Oh @Janiie as always you are comedy gold.
Please tell us about the great things the Tories have achieved over the past 13 years? I can think of exactly one, which is marriage equality - and that only got across the line with support from the opposition...

Roussette · 27/05/2023 16:58

Rumbled! Now I know you're on the wind up!

Thx for the laugh though!

Maybe because it's a pertinent question which you always evade?

Yeah we always knew they were on the wind up but managed not to hang to hang themselves with the rope until that comment. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Sometimes my tongue may be in my cheek <some of you need to develop a sense of humour it's a chat forum not Newsnight> but I have never been on the 'wind up' I am however usually right Grin.

'Is gaslighting posting more and more irrelevant links?'

Clav consistently posts relevant links to refute the often silly comments on these threads.

I know it must sting, it is horribly inconvenient but it is indeed more 'relevant' than rattling on like a broken record about kids birthday parties.

Thank you @Janiie I needed a good laugh.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You teally are out-janiie-ing yourself!
Shame the links often involve events from decades ago.

What puzzles me is this.
No one is claiming that any previous Labour government was perfect, they did some things very well and some things poorly.

But oddly absolutely no one is pointing out the good things the current government has done. I can't think why that is.

jgw1 · 27/05/2023 18:23

Rhondaa · 27/05/2023 10:04

Have you forgotten all the financial support the winter fuel pay outs, the energy caps. Managing covid when Sir Beer would have had us locked down for 2years solid. Leading in the support for Ukraine. Inflation now going down, ah but that'll be a global thing yet when it was soaring it was all Bozo's personal fault.

We can all only hope the polls turn around in the next 12mths and we don't have that Zippy character representing our country.

In January 2022 one party voted in favour of helping people with fuel bills the other voted against. I'll give you a clue, the one voting against have spent the past 13 years enriching their mates rather than governing.

On the contrary.

We all know exactly why that is Grin

You're sounding a bit rattled yourself tbh. I've never seen you pull anyone up on the Cruella 'nonsense' though, or is it one rule for one side and another for others? Think Bungle could equally be Sir Korma. Not sure about Geoffrey..

Anway. Back to the thread!

@Janiie you have posted many times on this thread, the closest it came to being on topic was when you compared Suella's law breaking to cake.

jgw1 · 27/05/2023 18:36

Rhondaa · 27/05/2023 13:54

'I don’t think anyone is calling you out on your manners, they’re calling you out on the tedious content of your posts and tedious assumptions '

Oh cornetto just because you're not in my league no need for such bitterness!

Again, anyone can call me out on my 'manners', but if Sir Beer rattles cages then so should Cruella. Except is doesn't, because <checks notes>, nope still no one has answered.

@Janiie I try hard to be in your league, but just can't understand why anyone would excuse cake for a 56 year old at an illegal party, but not then explain why it would be awful if millions of children had, had parties.

Cornettoninja · 27/05/2023 13:59

any league you’re in is not a desirable one. Your posts are largely non-sensical ranting at an imaginary enemy.

Its a league I aspire to be in, but I fear sometimes I let reality slip into my posts unoticed like a suitase of drink into an office.

Its a mystery to me why a pp thought it was necessary to bring up cake in this thread in the first place.
Its almost as though that poster didn't have anything to say about the Home Secretaries poor behaviour.

Its not a pertinent question, because only a big baby of a 56 year old would need a birthday party in order to do any work.

Roussette · 28/05/2023 07:51

It appears that feeling about Braverman on this thread is mirrored by the general public.

"Suella Braverman has suffered a collapse in personal support among the public in the wake of rows over a speeding fine and her handling of immigration, a new poll for the Observer has revealed.
With some Tories accusing the home secretary of positioning herself as a future leader, the latest Opinium poll found that her personal approval rating had slumped to -36 among voters. While 14% said they approved of the job she is doing, 50% said they disapproved.
both Sunak and Braverman performed poorly when voters were asked if they regard the pair as out of touch or representing what people think. However, Braverman performed significantly worse on trustworthiness, making big decisions, competence and “likeability”. Her net score for trustworthiness was -33 compared with Sunak’s -20, while her net score for being trusted with big decisions was -28, with Sunak scoring -11."

Yellowdays · 28/05/2023 09:26

Nobody wants a leader from any party who is a liar and a cheat.

Cornettoninja · 28/05/2023 09:40

That’s the baffling phenomenon, even those who were fully behind Tory policy have been badly let down. They’re just not achieving anything. Not even close.

If we look at that 14% you have to wonder exactly what they’re pleased with? There are plenty of long standing, well respected tories speaking out. There has been for a good while so it doesn’t require defecting or breaking allegiances. Remaining in power and longevity of the party relies on them having their shit together and being able to back up their promises.

I think the tories run the very real risk of ending up like the Lib Dem’s and skirting around the edges of power with no real prospect of gaining any. They just keep proving that their ideology is unworkable in the real world and they’re unable to mould it to fit.

Roussette · 28/05/2023 12:13

Interesting. One Minister, three Tory MPs, and an SNP MP all claimed driving fines on expenses.

It's against the rules but one of them claimed fines four times and one Tory twice. Apparently, it was 'completely inadvertent'. Yeah course it was Hmm

CabernetSauvignon · 28/05/2023 12:51

The 14% who approve of the job Braverman is doing essentially approve of what she says about immigrants, and about the alleged responsibility for crime of members of ethnic minorities. They haven't yet noticed that she has done bugger all about immigration and that she lies about the crime figures.

Cornettoninja · 28/05/2023 13:28

I agree @CabernetSauvignon, but there’s some serious dissonance going on to ignore the reality they’ve managed to achieve fuck all.

Personally, I’m quite pleased about their ineffectiveness since a lot of those aims are abhorrent or ridiculous, but the side effect of that is at a time we need to be building effective relationships globally we have a leadership with a proven track record of anything but. We haven’t got a team out there promoting and negotiating on our behalf, we’ve got a team of people prime to be out manoeuvred as the UK’s reputation is degraded the longer it goes on. They can’t get the ‘best’ on anything and I fear once that reputations gone it’s gone for good leaving us in a weaker position than we’ve ever been.

Farming agreements with Aus spring to mind…
