Is this incredibly racist or am I being sensitive

Have had to nc as incredibly outing.

I enquired about a blossom tree installation in my restaurant, someone got back to me with a quote and I said great what’s his timescales. He let me know a date and I told him it would be suitable but nothing yet agreed.
Next thing I know he says he requires a 50% deposit because he’s ordered the blossom for the tree.
I never asked him to order the blossom, never agreed that the work would actually be done and certainly didn’t agree to give him 50% upfront.

I’ve had to block him as he is continuously ringing and messaging me and is just being plain nasty, to both my husband and I.

I think he’s gone a step too far with this Facebook post though, the reference to scrubbing korma pans and polishing shoes just gets to me, I feel he’s being racist, we have an Indian restaurant but I don’t actually go/work there so he’s obviously made that up to be spiteful.

Actually, I don't think this poster missed them at all...

Longstanding poster here on a NC (MN can verify if needed). Also a local business owner, surprised to see we're in the same locale, if other posts regarding the businesses involved are correct.
He has damaged his business, OP, what a ridiculous, rude man. Most of us don't post unprofessional public outbursts like he did, but we all know which local businesses to avoid, and they are discussed when other traders meet up/work together. He's done much more damage to his own business with this.

Unfortunately have seen this play out many times. IMO The Royal Family board is the worst for it.

I think the fact that he required a deposit would mean that the op could reasonably believe that she had not commenced with any contract and that he would not commence without the deposit.

Absolutely this, it’s like booking any service that requires a deposit surely.

Be it a holiday, driving lesson blocks, tattoo appointment etc. Not confirmed until deposit is received.
