Yes, this is pathetic.

If you had sausages in front of you like this and someone asked you to cut them horizontally would you choose the red line or the green line?

If the sausages were on the worktop lying horizontally on the chopping board or in the pan, then green.

If they were stood up on end, then red.

DrinkFeckArseBrick · 21/05/2023 20:21

Green. Because you're looking at then from above. But an actual sausage itself lies flat. So you're looking at it from how you view the sausage. But your husband is looking at it from the point of view of the sausage

😂

That's it decision made were gonna have hotdogs for tea tomorrow with fried onions 😋

PickAChew · 21/05/2023 20:24

I'd ask them to clarify whether they meant lengthways or crossways.

Ha, enjoy. I’ve said I’m never cooking them again!

Yes. That would be a better description.

JudgeRudy · 21/05/2023 20:25

If they were within earshot I'd ask 'do you mean lengthways, because that vertically'
If l cut them horizontally (red) and they moaned, I'd give them a quick lesson.

The red line, but if I was making sausage sandwiches (only reason to cut sausages surely?!) I would do the green line!

This.

Wolbarker · 21/05/2023 20:26

I cut sausages diagonally for sandwiches. Sorry. Not sorry.

Luredbyapomegranate · 21/05/2023 20:28

Well red would bd weird so I’d ask what they meant. But not your fault, they should have demo’d.

Tinkerbyebye · 21/05/2023 20:29

Red, the other way is vertical

YukoandHiro · 21/05/2023 20:29

Surely this question only actually makes sense if you have a green line through every sausage. Otherwise, what?!

FlamingoQueen · 21/05/2023 20:30

Green. Otherwise you’re just cutting them in half!

JenniferBarkley · 21/05/2023 20:31

Cut sausages = green, especially for DC because of choking (mine are still young).

Cut sausages horizontally = red. Every chance I wouldn't hear the horizontal bit!

I think we’ve reached a truce. Excuse bad grammar.

I'd use the red line, but would twist each sausage a few times before cutting, so they formed whole small sausages.

This is clever!

Id ask for clarification. Chop in half would be clearer because you may be viewing the sausages like II and he may be viewing them as = depending on where you are standing? So “horizontally” is vague.

orangegato · 21/05/2023 20:37

Green. The reason people would vote red is because of the picture. If picture horizontal then the green line is horizontal…

CharlottenBurger · 21/05/2023 20:39

For clarity, I'd say 'do you mean across them all or along each one?', or 'do you want each sausage cut crosswise or length wise?' and if they got huffy, I'd say 'Cut your own bloody sausages'.

Spanielsarepainless · 21/05/2023 20:40

Green line for a sausage sandwich (with brown sauce). Red line if I was cutting them in half to put on cocktail sticks.

Dibbydoos · 21/05/2023 20:42

To do what you wanted, def red to shorten them. Your DH thought you meant they were too thick though.

Easy mistake.

Clarity is everything...

HadalyEve · 21/05/2023 20:42

OP the bars of my oven racks all run like || so the the picture you’ve posted is turned 90degrees from how he would have actually seen the sausages in front of him. They would have been in front of him like = not like II as you are saying. So you were even more vague by saying horizontally than I originally thought when I was thinking of a plate.
