I hate my breasts

Bathmatts · 15/05/2023 23:20

34GG.
People comment - as if its a compliment.
I feel self conscious.
Luckily my partner makes me feel sexy AF so I'm not so self loathing when I'm with him.
How do I love my body and be thankful for having breasts when shirts don't fucking button up?

32g here and just bought a Curvy Kate balcony bra on Vinted size 32h and it’s really flattering.

Tried a balcony style before in my own size but I was falling out of it.

I think I look the worst in sports type bras that push everything together to give the ‘matronly’ look.

Mine are definitely getting bigger with the menopause too.

Know someone who had a breast reduction and they were delighted with the end result but the recovery sounded horrendous and definitely not for me.

I don’t actually have any back pain luckily, which is something, but would love to be a C or D cup.

barmycatmum · 16/05/2023 02:34

Some of the people who post here are actually adolescent boys, looking to devalue women, and it has become quite obvious lately.

I’d say whenever you read a comment that sounds as utterly idiotic as those first few replies on this thread, assume they’re 12 year old boys mad at Mummy, sent to their room for some transgression, letting out their little tempers on mumsnet. Little shites

I'd personally get a breast reduction. I hate the male attention 😡

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 04:52

I have friends who hated having huge breasts on slim bodies.

I was really shocked when they'd tell me how they'd constantly get harassed by men and even abused esp in the summer when they wore say vest tops for instance and other women would call them 'slags' etc (lived in London) this was the 80's / 90's, as they walked down the street.

They all ended up getting breast reductions and were really happy with the results.

Women without huge breasts will never really understand how this can affect your life so negatively on a daily basis.

I would witness the negativity when with them

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 04:58

Oh god yes and at primary school I remember another good friend of mine in year 5/6 with larger breasts having her bra constantly pinged by the boys

It really upset her and of course being the 70's the teachers didn't intervene or do anything about it because until the sad Sarah Everard murder teachers just told girls in similar situations that

'Boys will be boys'

This was said to my DD and her friends till the school girls or our nation had protests at schools around the country and said enough is enough

And that was only a couple of years ago

Thankfully that's changed now for future generations or girls

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 04:58

Took its bloody time though

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 05:05

I wonder if you could get yourself a sewing machine and teach yourself how to adapt your shirts and tops to fit better

My DD does this with her clothes now

She has a tailors dummy she was gifted which bizarrely is her exact size (its a shop mannequin dummy, the top half, so can't be adjusted)

Anyway she can pin her clothes on it to the desired shape and just sews them to shape in minutes

She's a slim hourglass shape so needs to nip dresses in at the waist to fit better

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 05:11

Oh and OP there are some downright bizarre and negative comments on here which of course you should ignore from posters who haven't got a clue what they're talking about so I have no idea why they have bothered to comment

If you can't sympathise then you don't have huge inconvenient breasts or have any friends who do in which case this is not the thread for you.

HereAndNowAgain · 16/05/2023 05:14

I wear 28HH. I am actually 26 but that’s impossible to find.

I have made my peace now and know how to dress. No shirts or high necks. Shift dresses with no waist etc. But it is very limiting.

I would love to have small boobs. There is only one bra I can wear. R and Peller don’t make my size.

i think having a small frame makes it look even more incongruous. And when I was pregnant I looked like a weeble as my boobs and belly merged quickly into one.
In fact people guessed i was pregnant by my enormous boobs.

I feel your pain.

Bathmatts · 15/05/2023 23:45

Healthy, u missed the word healthy- maybe don't be so quick to assume the worst of people and be a bit softer in response to someone trying to express their discomfort. Or not, you can always scroll on

Not that it matters but your response compounded how shit I feel. Thanks for that.

You didn’t say healthy, so how could I have missed it?

Comfortingpigeon · 16/05/2023 06:38

Big breasts are a curse and the early replies were just unthinking stupidity OP. I lost a lot of weight once and mine started to approach normality, it was amazing! I'm 36F now and although thatd be small for some I would def have a reduction if I could afford.

Bigtitsbetty · 16/05/2023 06:50

I have totally sympathy for you OP and all the other posters with boobs. There’s a continuing thread on AMA from those of us that have surgery and those who are considering/waiting.

I had a breast reduction AMA | Mumsnet

I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D. Crack on with any questions!

Madagascary · 16/05/2023 06:52

Ha ga yes. Omg a reduction is the BEST

i lost 2.5 kg of tit 6 months ago. Just delighting in my summer clothes

DO IT

Madagascary · 16/05/2023 06:54

Menopause makes it worse. I’m selling all my old F cups and delighting in built in bra tops, not wearing bras with pyjamas, not looking matronly.

come to our thread !

What’s your problem, mate? You’ve gone out of your way to be unpleasant. Why? What have you got out of it?

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 16/05/2023 08:08

@bd67thSaysReinstateLangCleg

Perfectly said.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 16/05/2023 08:15

Also a victim of sexualisation young.

Any operation carries risk but of all the cosmetic procedures breast reduction has the most long term satisfaction.

I love being a normal size now.
I swim and it means I feel confident enough not to get in the water as quickly as possible

Everyone thinks I've lost weight My clothes on the whole still fit. They just hang properly now and on meno arriving they got even bigger. That was the last straw for me.

It was the same cost as a nice family holiday but will give me years of pain free confidence.

CornishYarg · 16/05/2023 08:21

Yep, I feel your pain OP - 34K here 😱So fed up of back pain, paying mega bucks for bras and swimwear, struggling to get clothes to fit, jiggling, comments etc etc

These are things I find work or definitely dont work for me with clothes (several have already been mentioned)

  • V necks or similar. Nothing too high necked (matronly) or low necked (bosomy serving wench look)

  • Wrap tops and dresses

  • Generally avoid shirts and other button up items unless I can wear it open e.g. my checked shirt. Although if a shirt is "nearly there" with just a tiny bit of gaping, sewing a hidden popper at the point of gaping can solve the problem. (But in reality, most shirts are "nowhere near" across the bust if they fit elsewhere!)

  • Longer sleeves. A full or three quarter length sleeve looks much better. Although obviously practicality comes into it as I don't want to boil in summer. But for smarter items I go for longer sleeves.
  • Waist definition is essential. If a dress or longer length top doesn't have it, try adding a belt
  • Avoid large prints or pockets across the bust
  • Avoid long chunky necklaces that finish on your bust. They draw too much attention to the area and jiggle about loads when you walk

Wearing a belt or waisted dress is a disaster for me. It makes my top half look ‘bosomly’. Wonder if it’s because I am short at 5 1?

Mooshamoo · 16/05/2023 08:49

Big breasts can be hard. I'm oversexualised all the time.

What I think is embarrassing is that they are seen as a very sexual body part. Yet I can't hide them.

Men can hide their penises. Nobkdy can see how big they are. Yet everyone can see and comment on how big breasts are.

It's very hard to hide big breasts especially in the summer. In the winter I always wear one of those big padded coats.

I do try to like my breasts but because we love in a world where they are so sexualised I do feel self conscious with them. I have large breasts and I am five foot 3
