Would DH be unreasonable to wear a short suit to a wedding?

We have a few weddings coming up this July and August. Given the very hot weather last year and that DH runs warm, he’s considering wearing a short suit if the weather is hot. We’re young, and the weddings we’ve been invited to are relaxed and casual, rather than a traditional occasion. We’re not part of the wedding party, and as DH is tall he tends to be at the back of photos. Here are some examples for styles he’s looking at. I know some of these are styled casually, but DH will be in a shirt and smart shoes. I know it’s bit left field but would be interested to see what the view is as DH is considered about sweltering in a traditional suit but also doesn’t want to go totally rogue.

I don’t know of any men who would need their partners permission to wear what they want to a wedding. Adults don’t need checking as what they are wearing before they leave the house.

Reading it back today my comment was a little harsh - apologies. I was trying to be funny, but it didn't work. However, I do think it would be so unusual to be dressed like this to a wedding that OP's husband would be talked about for a while! It's not my cup of tea but then I am very, very old.

oh sweet lord no. sorry I don't think it's a good look at all. weddings abroad are short sleev shirt chinos and light jacket. unless you are at a surfers wedding in hawai or oz. women may wear a long floaty dress but it's a dressy dress appropriate for a wedding. yes linen creases but take it out of the suitcase as soon as you get there and leave it in the bathroom to steam or iron it.
