Harry forced to watch his dads affair partner in the place his mum should have been

I feel so sorry for him. It would eat me up if I had to watch Camilla smiling and waving in the spotlight. She tormented his mother and wife. She (and his dad of course) spoiled his childhood.

He is not forced to do anything, he didn’t have to come, he could have stayed in the US

and after all the trashing he and his wife have done I don’t care if he is upset

threecupsofteaminimum · 06/05/2023 11:40

Diana and Charles were ill suited you say!

Yes Camilla knew that when she set them up.

scoobycute · 06/05/2023 11:40

"I thought MN was a place to share opinions. I didn’t realise everything everyone said on here had to be thoroughly researched, fact checked, peer reviewed and signed off by legal and editorial. I’m just sitting in the hairdressers watching the coronation and sharing thoughts."

But if you come out with a constant stream of ridiculous statements during the Coronation then expect some backlash.

I don’t think his mother would have been within a hundred miles of the coronation, she would have been off somewhere with whoever in the long line of unsuitable partners she was currently sharing her bed with.

I think the entire monarchy should be scrapped so have no dog in this fight but what posts like this forget is that they were all as bad as each other : Diana had many more affairs than Charles.

Before she died, she was not popular : she was seen as desperate, attention seeking, undignified.
For all the good work she did, she undermined that with her personal vendettas against people she thought had wronged her, including the wives of men she had affairs with and her chronic attention seeking.

Had she not died and had her reputation completely whitewashed, she’d be a worse version of Fergie, selling off family secrets to the highest bidder, and attaching her name to anything that might bring in money and attention.

She would not be St Diana by a very long way.

Most 40 year olds are sensible and recognise their parents faults and its not black and white. It was basically an arranged marriage that was a wrong match. They have learnt from their parents mistakes and both sons have married for love. If you haven't got over your parents divorce at 40 you are a bit sad.

carolinestowcrat · 06/05/2023 11:41

This thread.

Sigh.

Of course you can share opinions, people can also tell you youre wrong.

If Charles wasn’t trying to be Camilla’s tampon, they would probably still be together and she would never have been in a tunnel with Dodi.

What together in an unhappy shame marriage with her head down a toilet....the marriage would never have worked you could say if politics hadn't stopped Charles first love affair with Camila everyone would have been much happier.

Totally agree with this. My father has had affairs, it’s none of my business. It’s their relationship not mine.

No they may not have lasted but it didn’t have to be so publicly humiliating for her.

She did choose to go on TV that wasn't exactly keeping it behind closed doors.

Figgygal · 06/05/2023 11:44

Ah the cult of diana remains strong I see

Christ, you're insufferably coarse. I am not watching, can't be bothered with any of them and think this is a hideous waste of public money that could be better used elsewhere.

But the chances of Charles and Diana celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary, even without Camilla in the picture, must have been infinitesimally small. They were very ill-suited.

In what way am I coarse? The tampon comment from Charles is famous. It was from a leaked phone call, so you can let go of your pearls.

Yes, The Crown's Tampongate Really Happened

The true story behind Charles and Camilla's explicit phone conversation is better than fiction.

Diana had affairs too while married but everyone conveniently overlooks that. And even if the affairs on both sides hadn't happened, I doubt very much she'd have been sat by his side today. Theirs was an arranged marriage and a disaster in the making from day one.

michaelmacrae · 06/05/2023 11:45

You are not being unreasonable.

Appleass · 06/05/2023 11:45

Harrys a grown man. I am loving this morning, and so please MEGHAN is not there with her false smile !

Yep I’m totally cool with people telling me I’m wrong. Never said otherwise. It’s a forum for people to express opinions with voting options. Not expecting an echo chamber.

Now you really are living in fantasy land. I can't think of two people so ill matched as Charles & Diana.

Yep. My father went on to have 2 children with his (now) ex and is currently engaged to a former colleague. The relationship time-lines seems to overlap and I would be surprised if there weren't some other women (apart from the few I definitely know of).

It's none of my business. It concerns him and the women who make the choice to be with him. Period.

So going by the op's (weird) thinking why is William 'not watching' it

Why only mention Harry?

Well exactly Diana was also his mother but poor Harry eh.

femfemlicious · 06/05/2023 11:49

I really dislike camilla. She got away with everything.

tiggergoesbounce · 06/05/2023 11:49

Harry's situation is in no way unique in regards to this

But his situation is unique. He is a (spare) Prince. What happened to him might not be unique, but his situation surrounding it, very much is. Most are not forced to walk behind their mothers' coffin in front of millions, being recorded and shaking hands with random strangers for the benefit of the Royal Family- it was an absolute disgrace for those boys and im not suprised it could leave lasting troubles.

To think people can't understand how the life they lead could lead to some troubles later in life is baffling.

I think people need to let it go now and stop whining on about Harry. He was invited, they wanted him there and he went, full stop. Its ironic people keep talking about him being a whinger and yet on every thread they are here whinging about him.

QueenMegan · 06/05/2023 11:50

Ofcourse you're right.

I'm glad to have no part of it. Let the racist inbreds have their over the top ceremony for an unelected king. He never loved his mum and made her life hell
