Harry forced to watch his dads affair partner in the place his mum should have been

I feel so sorry for him. It would eat me up if I had to watch Camilla smiling and waving in the spotlight. She tormented his mother and wife. She (and his dad of course) spoiled his childhood.

So going by the op's (weird) thinking why is William 'not watching' it

Why only mention Harry?

Lindy2 · 06/05/2023 11:30

He's chosen to be there so he can't be that fussed about it.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 06/05/2023 11:31

Also comments about William being 'indoctrinated' and therefore not as emotional about his equally tragic loss are fucking disgusting!

tiggergoesbounce · 06/05/2023 11:31

Charles was a coward and camilla the other woman.
I dont respect either of them.
This countries "leaders" are a shambles and an embarrassment.

The boys have been forced through so much, from such a young age for the benefit of the royal family, its heart breaking really.

Im glad Harry was wanted there and im glad he accepted. It irrelevant what joe public want or think. It a good thing he is there on his fathers day.

Well he's had to either forgive or come to terms with it. FFS he's a middle aged man. Most people have bad things happen in their lives. They grow up, get on living happy lives. Or do you prefer eternal victimhood?

This. Seriously, do you think he is the only person in the world who has had parents who divorced, parents who had affairs (not just one parent)? He's a married man with children, time he concentrated on his own life. I've no time for whiners. If he doesn't like it then maybe he should have stayed at home, I doubt many people would have even noticed his absence, much less cared.

mynameisnotkate · 06/05/2023 11:32

Wtf? That’s not how dukedoms work. The crown can’t strip someone of their title just they don’t turn up to a shindig. Of course Harry could have avoided going if he wanted to. He either felt he wanted to be there with his family despite all the bad feelings or he felt he needed to do it to for the Sussex brand.

Thirdsummerofourdiscontent · 06/05/2023 11:33

There were a lot more than 3 in the marriage, Diana didn’t love him when they got married and definitely was not faithful, she didn’t care the men she bed were married so that makes her also awful but a hypocrite to boot.

Crikeyalmighty · 06/05/2023 11:33

Life isn't black and white as some see it- neither were perfect , nor was camillas behaviour good either whilst he was still married- but that's life.

Iwasafool · 06/05/2023 11:33

Who forced him? Was he dragged back to England in chains? No he wasn't, he was invited and accepted the invitation. Have a google and you will see photos of him laughing with Camilla and kissing her when he was leaving some event. He seemed OK with it.

SallyWD · 06/05/2023 11:34

I think they've moved on now

Redglitter · 06/05/2023 11:34

Plus he’s had his own affair with Rose Hanbury so probably doesn’t see it in the same way

The person who started that story has subsequently admitted they made it up yet folk still insist on spouting this crap

Diana wasn't the Saint people portray her as. She was the OW in more than one marriage.

Time to move on

The keywords here: I think…

This is all your opinion and you seem to think you know everything about how members of the royal family feel and think, assuming by watching The Crown and reading tabloids here and abroad.

I thought MN was a place to share opinions. I didn’t realise everything everyone said on here had to be thoroughly researched, fact checked, peer reviewed and signed off by legal and editorial. I’m just sitting in the hairdressers watching the coronation and sharing thoughts.

Totally agree.

mynameisnotkate · 06/05/2023 11:35

Because William has no feelings or emotions at all, obv, as otherwise he’d have released his own tell-all book and got a Netflix series. Staying in his family and getting on with his job = is an automaton. Also he definitely had an affair because it was in the gossip magazines.

Wishimaywishimight · 06/05/2023 11:35

TomatoSandwiches · 06/05/2023 11:11

That's not true.

If he doesn't attend they will chop off his head. Or imprison him in the Tower.

(I'm Irish so not completely au fait with the royal rules but I'm sure I'm right 😄)

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 06/05/2023 11:35

Didn't Diana sleep with various married men?
Wasn't Diana therefore also the other woman?
Not unlike Camilla?

Many of us are children of divorced parents. Cheating, other women, other men... Harry's situation is in no way unique in regards to this.

And many of us manage to forgive or move on. Or we cut contact. Harry has all these options as well.

He obviously chose to attend.

Diana Spencer was hand picked to be charles wife because she was "pure: and 19 years old! they had a miserable marriage Camilla is his wife Charles and Diana were divorced she also allegedly shagged about in the marriage but don't let that put your St Diana and Poor Harry Narrative.

WilsonMilson · 06/05/2023 11:36

Jeez, get over it. How bitter are you?

Sorry, that was supposed to be a reply as to why the OP didn’t mention William.

Endlesssummer2022 · 06/05/2023 10:56

If Charles wasn’t trying to be Camilla’s tampon, they would probably still be together and she would never have been in a tunnel with Dodi.

Christ, you're insufferably coarse. I am not watching, can't be bothered with any of them and think this is a hideous waste of public money that could be better used elsewhere.

But the chances of Charles and Diana celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary, even without Camilla in the picture, must have been infinitesimally small. They were very ill-suited.

lampformyfeet · 06/05/2023 11:37

Marriages break down all the time.
And people move on as is the case here.
I’m not sure there is much to be gained by continually looking backwards.

TheApplianceofScience · 06/05/2023 10:53

Jesus, they are all out today.

No time for the lot of them, but your post is a stretch, they were divorced.

Just what I was thinking. Switch the TV off and do something else, all you naysayers!

Iwasafool · 06/05/2023 11:38

Endlesssummer2022 · 06/05/2023 11:25

I didn’t include William as I think he’s different from Harry in that he’s been completely indoctrinated by his royal training and is less emotional. Plus he’s had his own affair with Rose Hanbury so probably doesn’t see it in the same way.

Well you are being vile. Have you proof he had an affair? Whether he did or not have you thought how hurtful it is for his wife when people spread their bile? What about Rose Hanbury and her husband.

Maybe he isn't less emotional just a happily married man with 3 lovely kids who is enjoying a special occasion.

CheshireCat1 · 06/05/2023 11:38

Harry is there because it benefits him.

I thinks there are a lot of assumptions in there.
