Harry forced to watch his dads affair partner in the place his mum should have been

I feel so sorry for him. It would eat me up if I had to watch Camilla smiling and waving in the spotlight. She tormented his mother and wife. She (and his dad of course) spoiled his childhood.

Actually no they should not.Kids witnessing unhappiness and tension affects their future love lives and mental health.Better to separate.

BibbleandSqwauk · 06/05/2023 11:25

I literally said to my family as we watched them leave Buckingham palace that there would be some of this crap today. Yes, there may be a little wishful "what if" thinking on a personal level but I'm sure that would be the case at every occasion. The nation (those who care) have long since accepted that none of them were perfect, as none of us are, and actually the more I learn about Diana, the more she comes across, at best as horribly manipulative and emotionally abusive toward William in particular and at worst, suffering from serious mental health issues. But fundamentally, I accept that as an outsider I know fuck all about any of them really and should probably mind my own business. All this faux concern is tedious. He's a middle aged man now and absolutely could choose to walk away completely if he wanted to.

If Charles wasn’t trying to be Camilla’s tampon, they would probably still be together and she would never have been in a tunnel with Dodi.

Well that's a bit of a stretch ,even if Charles didn't have an affair with Camilla I don't think him and Diana were deliriously happy together.

No, he doesn't, he could decline. What are they going to do, send a crack team of equerries to America to kidnap him?

Exactly this @SoftCoeur - I would totally watch this on Netflix!

We all would if Major Johnny Thompson was in the starring role!

CwmYoy · 06/05/2023 11:25

You do realise it was Di who shagged away from home first?

Harry is behaving like a spoilt brat and encouraged by his silly wife. They both need to grow up.

What about William?

I didn’t include William as I think he’s different from Harry in that he’s been completely indoctrinated by his royal training and is less emotional. Plus he’s had his own affair with Rose Hanbury so probably doesn’t see it in the same way.

I genuinely think people look at Harry and see this sad little boy. He's pushing 40!

They were definitely not divorced when Diana said there were three of them in the marriage. It would have been very traumatic for the kids and so public too. It’s not something you could easily forgive.

Three of them in the marriage, plus all the men Diana shagged. And their wives who she spitefully harassed.

Been watching The Crown?
Grow up.

Charles has always loved Camilla.
He was as much a victim of his upbringing and not being allowed to choose his own path in life as Diana was. Both of them were used, and their families had a lot to answer for.

I'm sure Charles and Camilla have been through a lot of hurt.

I think it's lovely to see them both so in love.

This in spades. Their actions are inexcusable but it was long ago. It is what it is. Why can’t some people move on already? It’s not healthy to be this invested in another person’s life. I haven’t done the maths so I’m happy to be corrected. I think by now Charles has been married to Camilla longer than he was to Diana. It’s been so long now. I’m not sure how I feel about the monarchy but I recognise that they do have some merits as well as acknowledging its importance to others as well as the fact that we live in a constitutional monarchy.

Diana only cheated after it was clear Charles and Camilla were not a short term fling but in a parallel relationship. The woman was tormenting her and rubbing it in her face too.

Bullsh1t
Diana was not the innocent saint-like figure her acolytes would have us believe.

I highly doubt it. They had nothing in common and shouldn't have married in the first place.

Chaiandkaafee · 06/05/2023 11:27

OP I agree with you totally. You are being set upon by those who seem to be justifying men cheating on their wives…..

Choconut · 06/05/2023 11:28

So you'd rather Charles and Di were still together making each other miserable? She knew about Camilla before she married him but still went ahead because her sisters said it was too late to back out (according to her).

Charles and Camilla are a wonderful match, Diana was emotionally unstable with possible BPD (I'd say NPD personally, but same cluster) and boy she knew how to play her part, play the victim, play the angel and play the media (well the men in it). She knew exactly how to manipulate people and how to be what other people wanted her to be - she was an absolute master of it which is why she is so worshipped like a saint.

Charles and Camilla were always perfect for each other, but she married someone else. I'm really glad they got together in the end, but it is a shame it was so messy for him and Di.

No they may not have lasted but it didn’t have to be so publicly humiliating for her.

I'm guessing you didn't see the Martin Bashir interview or read the Andrew Morton book?
I'm no Royalist and would happily abolish the lot of them, but Diana has been dead for over a quarter of a century move on.

Toddlerteaplease · 06/05/2023 11:28

WhiteFire · 06/05/2023 11:00

Do you honestly think Di and Charles would still be together had it not been for Camilla? They were ill suited and doomed from the start.

This. They'd have still separated.

Beelezebub · 06/05/2023 11:28

Oh do give over.

CosmosQueen · 06/05/2023 11:28

And in case you didn’t realise, Diana’s dead so would never have been here today ffs

You know Diana also had a lot of affairs? Seriously, there is no way they would still be together, Camilla or not.

Tg2023 · 06/05/2023 11:28

Diana cheated as well. He never wanted to marry Diana it was forced, Diana used the press for pity & Harry has followed in her footsteps!
Charles was divorced from Diana so she would never ever of been sitting were camilla is today.

The keywords here: I think…

This is all your opinion and you seem to think you know everything about how members of the royal family feel and think, assuming by watching The Crown and reading tabloids here and abroad.

Toddlerteaplease · 06/05/2023 11:29

Diana was no saint. And she's been dead 25 years. It's time to leave her in the past.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 06/05/2023 11:29

What about William @Endlesssummer2022 ? Harry is a grown man who chose to attend.
