“Beyond all reasonable doubt” disgraceful - they can’t prove it at all 🤬

But the criminally hard of thinking will lap up the implementation.

Saw on the news this morning that the police’s reasoning behind the arrests was that some protesters had zip ties … so the police thought they would attach themselves to things 🤦‍♀️

How is that a good reason to arrest someone…It’s just so strange.🤔

'implication' that should say. Mustn't post when not wearing my glasses.

'We live in a democracy. Fuck off and vote. Set up a republican party. Don't intimidate other people. I would find a bunch of screaming fanatics intimidating.'

Not a shred of evidence that the Republic protestors were intimidating the wider crowd (quite the contrary if anything) or that they were 'screaming fanatics'.

And how does voting help when no political parties may debate the republican position, as all MPs have to swear allegiance to the King in order to even take their seats? So no we don't live in a full democracy, when fundamental constitutional issues cannot be even debated.

It's all just game of thrones but a lot less violent.

Humanbiology · 09/05/2023 23:18

Anyway the monarchy will soon be obsolete youngster's don't care less about the monarch. They seem to have it in their heads that public money should be given to them and instead go to public services. Crazy aren't they😁

Well this is interesting. I wonder if Australian and New Zealand police will allow protests

King Charles could soon visit Australia and New Zealand as part of his next overseas visits | Daily Mail Online

I doubt it. Australia has been busy bringing in anti-protest laws, with very little attention or pushback. It's all quite scary.

The Chief Executive of Republic was arrested. Honestly, he is as mild an anti Monarchist as you can get. He does not like criticism of individual Royals and instead raises issues about the institution of the Monarchy. If he can get arrested it means anyone who criticises the can be arrested.

I read an article which pointed out that supporting the Monarchy is just as political as not supporting it

That bears repeating .

Novella4 · 13/05/2023 09:21

Yes I think so

Roussette · 13/05/2023 09:32

Thanks for the article. It was rational. The quote from Graham Smith was so true.

I was gobsmacked at Tracey Emin and her arse licking about a water colour painted by Charles. It was pretty but I have artists in my family who are far more talented! Putting the painting to one side, I was disappointed that someone I thought of as anti-establishment and outspoken bought into such gushing.

I expect no less from a couple of Americans and tax dodging Gary Barlow... but Tracey Emin??!
