Breeder has not giving us her address to view puppy

Hi we were looking for a spaniel breeder and found one not too far from us, price agreed with deposit agreed, breeder had chat on phone with us to find out about us & all was good. Arranged with breeder to visit puppy tomorrow at her house by phone however she said to us she would give us her address but up to now she hasn’t. So AIBU to think that she isn’t going to give us the chance to view the puppy considering we have deposit to pay her? Or are we missing something here that maybe she’s just been busy?

In February you said you all work full time and wanted to surprise dh with a puppy, earlier this month you said you work 35 hours a week and now 2 weeks later you work 2 days a week and your dh is retired

Don’t know If she’s a scammer but please please do some decent research with the kennel club etc before randomly buying a puppy from someone you’ve found online! X

Just wanted to respond to the suggestion of googling her number- it's common for people to use a new number for each ad (using a free sim) to avoid being detected like this.

So many homeless animals in shelters leading miserable lives and desperate for adoption. Why breed more ? Why not offer a space to a rescue dog?

I don't think she said she works 2 days a week.

It's probably best she doesn't have a dog of any sort tbh

So you’ve done FUCK ALL research on the ‘breeder’

you know very little about them, the dogs etc etc and your replies lead me to think that you’re not going to look too deeply, you want a dog, the way you want it to look, and now.

pets4homes isn’t a good source for dogs. The behaviour of this person isn’t good either AND your instincts are pinging at you that this is not right.

Forget this woman, go onto champ dogs or kennel club breeders or even spaniel rescue but make sure you can view all the breeding documents, the pedigree information and check out the breeder properly.

Well after those updates the breeder has obviously felt uneasy after your phone chat and has ghosted you (possibly with good reason)

No reputable breeder would sell on Pet4Homes or Gumtree. Contact the puppy coordinator at the official breed club. Find out more about the breeder before you commit. Any serious breeder will welcome and expect questions. Be prepared to wait for your puppy from a good kennel.

Sounds like you have said something that means she no longer wants one of her puppies to live with you.

Which is fair enough.

If someone text me "We was interested in ya puppies can we come tom?" I might definitely have a long think about whether to continue the conversation.

Puppy thefts especially targetted ones are rife so they will not give you the address until you are ready to come

We didn’t text her that, when we originally spoke on the phone she told us to come on Sunday at 4pm

What have you actually told her about yourselves OP? I guess it's possible she's genuinely just busy if it was a phone call, we're assuming she knows as much about you and your household as MN but maybe not.
