Just as the subject says, I’ve watched nearly all of them on Netflix. Really could do with some more suggestions. Thank you 😊

Both the 28 films are great I agree. So glad you like them OP! I remember watching the trailer for 28 weeks and just being blown away. It's a great trailer. Anyone else think this? I mean I think it stands in its own right. (I love the film as well obvs)

Oh yes 28 days/weeks later! Just panicky, your heart beats out your child for the entire film. Robert Carlisle is magnificent as always.

Coffeeandbourbons · 28/04/2023 07:18

*chest not child!

bumblenbean · 28/04/2023 07:26

Martyrs (French version) is the only film I seriously thought about turning off I was so disturbed. And I love horror! But it just felt really uncomfortable

StupidFaces · 28/04/2023 07:29

No horror films scare me as I don’t tend to believe in the stuff that is meant to scary.

What I do find scary is psychological movies that “could” actually happen in real life. Silence of the Lambs always gets me. Lecter is chilling.

Toptiermum · 28/04/2023 07:31

Yes it's bad.

I did manage Terrifier 2 and thought that was quite funny actually despite being horrifically gory.

Plumstrum · 28/04/2023 07:36

Hereditary was terrifying
The exorcist was so scary I didn't sleep for a week
Oldies but goodies are The Haunting ( much better than the haunting of hill house which was based on the same book as this film) and Dead of Night - the ventriloquist dummy story is great!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 28/04/2023 07:48

It’s ages since I saw it, but an old B&W French one, Les Diaboliques, is worth a watch!

Lazyteens · 28/04/2023 08:01

When A Stranger Calls - the 1970’s version. I find it terrifying!

I absolutely loved 30 Days of Night - but then I do like vampire films.
Host is terrifying - set during covid so very contemporary. And genuinely scary. I watched it on iPlayer.

@dontlookgottalook everyone always laughs at me when I say 30 days of night is scary but I think it genuinely is 🤣 I think it’s because they move so quickly!! Oh I’ll have to check out Host, not heard of that one!!

IVFNewbie · 28/04/2023 09:01

A Serbian Film.

IHeartGeneHunt · 28/04/2023 09:06

@Coffeeandbourbons yes really! I don't actually get why either.
The bit where the dead servants are walking up to the house is what got me. Just so creepy and it had seemed like they were the normal ones.

HomeSeck · 28/04/2023 09:08

The Orphanage. The Descent. The Skeleton Key.

Seems I'm a fan of a 'The' film Grin

JohnLikesChickenSoup · 28/04/2023 09:26

The Poughkeepsie Tapes
Raw

First proper horror film I saw. I was 11! I just remember the bit where she throws his dick to the dogs to eat 😕

Hostel is so gory that I never watched the other hostel films 😥

That’s a film I always think to watch them forget! I definitely will be adding that to the list

I loved Dog Soldiers, but as a previous poster said,it is also funny in parts. I also loved An American Werewolf in London, which again,is more of a horror/dark comedy. Even now,40 years after it first came out,I think the scene where he transforms into the werewolf is amazing.

I rewatched Dog Soldiers about two weeks ago, never gets old. Love it

Sorry I can’t reply to everyone’s comments but there’s some great suggestions, I watched Scream last night the new one. Didn’t think that was good at all. Tonight I’ll be looking up some of the suggestions on here, cannot wait for bed time 😂

I'm a horror lover but 'Men' knocked me sick!!!

I would never watch that again and I've never said that about a film before.

Wasn't it horrible?! It didn't help that I thought it was going to be a black comedy!! It's one of the very few films that I nearly didn't finish.

A Serbian Film.

Google before you watch this! Seriously disturbing content warning for this film!

I have not watched it but read what it is about. It includes scenes of rape, child rape and torture and I am wording this very mildly in contrast to the actual content.

It’s a great film in a ‘turn of the screw’ way, I must be a bit of a weirdo because I found the end quite comforting - I love that the children could finally enjoy playing outside after being locked away in the house the whole time!

Oh I read the plot, just disgusting. I’m a horror fan but I absolutely could not watch that - anything involving the sexual abuse of children is just too far for me. And I wasn’t particularly scared by wolf creek, hostel etc

Errmmmmmmmmmmm · 28/04/2023 10:08

Not a horror as such, more of a comedy horror but Severence is good.
