Just as the subject says, I’ve watched nearly all of them on Netflix. Really could do with some more suggestions. Thank you 😊

Insidious. Scares the shit out of me 😂

The Babadook, The Ring, The Grudge and Hereditary all freak me out too.

Don't think it's the scariest ever but the previously mentioned The Descent is a great film.

BridgetRandomfuck · 27/04/2023 21:32

I saw a good one recently called The Ruins - it’s a few years old now but was pretty damn nasty! About people exploring a Mayan pyramid in Mexico.

Also a slightly silly one called Truth or Dare that had some good moments in it.

Davestwattymissus · 27/04/2023 21:35

@Cherry321 me too! I'm pretty hardy when it comes to horror films, but I had to turn it off halfway through

DOBARDAN · 27/04/2023 21:35

Vacancy...

Deanie02 · 27/04/2023 21:36

Eden Lake and all of the I spit on your grave movies

feedyourheed · 27/04/2023 21:37

I highly recommend 'Creep' from 2004 (there are a few movies called Creep). It's a British/German horror set in the London underground. Really good.

MathsNervous · 27/04/2023 21:39

I came on to say Japanese version of The Ring but someone on page one has beaten me to it.

feedyourheed · 27/04/2023 21:40

I also agree with Eden Lake. And the classic 'The Shining' if you haven't seen it.

Lorrymum · 27/04/2023 21:43

Dead Of Night, 1945 classic British horror film. Not gory but genuinely scary. The final ventriloquist story gives me the creeps just thinking about it.

midsomermurderess · 27/04/2023 21:43

Wolf Creek. I remember The Others putting the wind right up me too.

Marchintospring · 27/04/2023 21:44

Old school. I love the Ring, Woman in Black and Event Horizon. I like sad horror rather than gore.

IronCandle · 27/04/2023 21:45

The Blair Witch Project.

wolf creek - the only film I’ve ever switched off and have no desire to know what happened!!

It's based on a true story

Google Peter Falconio

jaundicedoutlook · 27/04/2023 21:51

Audition. First half is basically a light romantic comedy. 2nd half is beyond horrific, especially if you’re squeamish about eyes.

I’d also second Wolf Creek, which was just nasty.

ThingsthatgoBumpintheDay · 27/04/2023 21:52

Thank you all. I am reading all the comments. I’ve seen nearly all films suggested haha but appreciate them either way. Btw there’s a descent 2 as well if anyone hasn’t seen that. I’ve got a few on here that I’ll be searching tonight! Can’t wait.

And Wolf Creek was so good in a bad way!

The Wicker Man 1973, real horror.

StrawberryFizz27 · 27/04/2023 21:54

Another vote for Eden Lake.

The Blair Witch Project.

Great film, really scary.

I was struggling to remember the name, but this is it. Chilling!

I watched Audition one night on my own and had no idea what was about to happen. Lol.

Sodie · 27/04/2023 21:58

Creep, British film set in the underground. I'm a huge horror fan but I was sure the guy/thing from the film was up my attic. My stepdad came over to have a look, he said what do you think is up there. I said you know that film we all watched at Halloween, I'm pretty sure the thing from that is up there. He went up with a hammer!

PatientZorro · 27/04/2023 21:58

Sinister. Really scared me and that takes some doing.

Great thread! I love a bit of horror and there are some corkers listed above. The only one I haven’t seen is Eden Lake. Exciting, I’m off to search that one out right now!

If you haven’t tried Korean horror give it a go OP….train to Busan, the Wailing and more, great scary films.

Uberbeeboo · 27/04/2023 22:00

Another for Eden Lake. Truly horrible

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 27/04/2023 22:02

Smile. It was just unsettling!
