Just as the subject says, I’ve watched nearly all of them on Netflix. Really could do with some more suggestions. Thank you 😊

The American version of Ring, the first time I saw it. Don't know why exactly, but it hit a nerve. I even dreamt about the girl from Ring standing at the bottom of the bed, when I was staying in a hotel.

Also a fan of horror, the films that really scared me are
Blair witch project
Paranormal activity, after watching it, I was too scared to go to sleep on and off for a few weeks
Really good films, but I didn't find them too scary was
28 days later
It follows

First American remake I've actually enjoyed! Great film. And very frightening. The original is equally good but has a whole different vibe. And the book is definitely worth a read 👍

Event Horizon. I still see Sam Neill with no eyes every time I look at him.

EmpressSoleil · 28/04/2023 19:56

What the hell have I just watched? Decided to watch "men" as recommended by a couple of pp's as its one of the few I hadn't seen. First half slow and boring, second half just gross nonsense! And an ending that didn't say anything. That's 1hr 40 minutes I'll never get back!

Swansandcustard · 28/04/2023 20:11

Following, The Exorcist petrified me despite the crappy effects. Looking forward to the new one, Popes exorcist or something

I loved it

For a long time “Berberian sound studio” topped my list of worst “horror” I’d ever seen. Men, may have knocked it off it’s spot! That’s how much I hated it 😂

Boughtitdownthemarket · 28/04/2023 20:54

The Shining terrified me when I first saw it.

Another

Triangle

God I watched this a good few years ago - yep - very weird but very scary

AnyaMarx · 28/04/2023 21:13

Also not a film but in I player - the seance - I think it's called ?

About a group who do a seance during lockdown remotely by zoom and it fucking terrified me - honestly really really good

All seen in first person type thing like blair witch project

AnyaMarx · 28/04/2023 21:19

Bugger can't find it now - and aren't 100% sure it was called that but really scary

Oh Eden Lake, which I really liked, reminds me of another British film I saw. Mum and Dad. Apparently very loosely based on Fred and Rose West. It's quite a shocker. But it's the whole setting of such horror in British suburbia that makes it scarey.

Oh god I remember this film. It's so so grim. Equally horrific but mundane and very British. Honestly I don't know how that one isn't banned.

Host?

mysonsmother82 · 28/04/2023 21:28

The exorcism of Emily Rose
The hills have eyes
The Texas chainsaw massacre
Mama

CrazyCatLady13 · 28/04/2023 21:36

Honeydew is a very strange one & the ending is terrifying

ThingsthatgoBumpintheDay · 28/04/2023 21:58

I watched Eden Lake, finished it before. Someone on here said it’s almost realistic like possible it could happen in real life(not exact phrase) & I agree. That was really grim but enjoyed it too. On to the next 😂

Yes ! It was Host ! Excellent and scary !

Bapbap · 28/04/2023 22:12

Host is very good!

Bapbap · 28/04/2023 22:12

Smile is also decent.

Sugarfish · 28/04/2023 22:13

Sinister, I had a sort anxiety through the entire thing that never really let up. It’s meant to be one of scariest movies based on some heart rate study they did a few years ago. Creepy music in it as well.

I loved it!

ThingsthatgoBumpintheDay · 28/04/2023 22:35

About to watch Host, fingers crossed it’s good!

The exorcism of Emily Rose
The hills have eyes
The Texas chainsaw massacre
Mama

The Exorcism Of Emily Rose played on my mind for months afterwards.

Half way through Eden Lake... does it get better/scarier?!
