Tidying up after the cleaners

Is this normal?

I have two cleaners come for two hours, so pay for four hours in total.
My house is tidy and everything in its place, I just hate and don’t have time to do mopping, windows, oven etc etc
My parents are staying with us for a short holiday. When we came back today, everything was very clean as always, but their room had the carpet on the bed, pillows on the bed (supposed to be on the floor-it’s my Dds room and she has a little reading corner etc) All clearly been cleaned but things thrown everywhere, we’ve just spent time tidying up

Is this normal?!

I realise their job isn’t to tidy up, but surely it’s not to leave it messier than it was 🤷🏻‍♀️I don’t expect everything to be back in the exact place it was in, but surely you don’t mess up made bed and chuck the carpets on it and all the various cushions from the room, it also had my Dds book baskets chucked on it

I’d assume they moved the things to clean the floor then forgot to put them back, assuming it’s a one-off.

They also left the front gate slightly open and my dog was put in the front garden, luckily we got back maybe 10 minutes after they left, I’m amazed she didn’t run out/off

I would have mentioned about the gate as the dog could have run out but the other stuff is just petty

@Twiglets1 Is it petty to come home and have to tidy though and it’s with people staying, my mum had made the bed neatly and comes back to it unmade with everything thrown on top of it. The suitcases were thrown around too, it is like they hoovered/mopped messily and just left it all

I would not be happy, the bed looks a mess. I mean there are two of them?! How much cleaning do they do that they don’t have time to tidy the bed???

It would have taken you seconds to put her reading corner back. The gate is a problem, do you always leave your dog outside when you go out?

Yes it’s petty to complain about that. You could have fixed the problem in 5 minutes but you took another 5 to take photos and write a complaint

@nomoredriving About 15 minutes, just not really the point, I work hard to pay to have cleaners to make life easier…I just don’t get coming home and having to tidy it all 😬

Is that a floor they've mopped? Perhaps it was wet so couldn't put the rugs back.

My cleaner leaves everything in random places she moves stuff to clean then puts it back mostly but not always in the right place. I just put stuff back. At least it's clean.

@Hotfootgoose Exactly! That’s what we thought, just hasn’t happened before, bit surprised, also quite annoying as guests staying and having to tidy it all back up

It looks like the floor wasn't dry when they left so they had to leave things on the bed. It's such a trivial thing to fix - if they were doing it every single week I might ask them to change but honestly no big deal.

I can't believe you're prioritising that as an issue over leaving the dog in a garden with an open gate. Now that really is a cause for complaint.

@DancingWithTheMoonlitKnight No, she stays inside, but they put her in the garden when they clean, which I get and is fine, but not leaving the gate open

The room doesn’t look a mess, there are just a few items on the bed. It wouldn’t have taken you 15 minutes to put them away unless 10 of them were putting in your complaint.
You should have just focussed on the main issue- the gate being left open with your dog unsafe. Now you just look like one of those serial complainers.
