to be alarmed that more and more places are allowing dogs?

Just went to Wilko recently who had a sign up saying all dogs welcome. Went to a bistro and they allowed dogs too. Had lunch listening to small yappy dogs.

Since when did it become acceptable to allow dogs into shops and food places?

Wonderful. More places I can visit with my dog. Dog friendly places are the BEST and they tend to make more money from people like ME

My young pup has just had her first outing to the pub along the road from me and she was very good . Two large poodles there as well , the staff all loved her and it was an enjoyable outing . The dog friendly section is just beside the bar and has a hard wood floor and if you don't like dogs you can sit elsewhere .🐶

I'll give you a word of warning......

I've taken my dog to the pub many a time, not once has she offered to buy a round...

Just saying.

Yeah dog seemed a bit peeved she went to the pub and we didn't buy her a drink , never mind she seemed to enjoy it anyway 😆.

''Completely agree that humans don't matter anymore. This is why some dog owners tell people to get over their fear of dogs.''

This is just silly now...

If a shop, cafe or whatever allows dogs then you can simply make the choice not to use these premises.

I don't see why everyone should bend over backwards to accommodate you.

Actually, it is a good advice to learn how to behave around dogs, cats or whatever and not show your fear.

Because that knowledge means a safer experience for you.

Being fearful and flustered/reacting with aggression is not going to do you any favour when dealing with dogs.

To me that's a basic life skills, like learning to swim or learning when to cross the road.

You will come across dogs in your life, better to know what to do when that happens than have the dumb notion that dogs should be removed from every location you might be in.

I dont think it should be allowed as dogs smell, i dont care what anyone says they smell and some dogs drool not to mention they let farts out willy nilly. Absolutely disgusting

Thankfully, your opinion doesn't count. Love 🐕 they are better than most people.

Confused as to why you waited 18 months after this thread was last updated to share your opinion, rather than go and comment on one of the many other live dog hating posts.

Thankfully not everyone is so obsessed with dogs that they prefer most dogs to most people

I remember pubs after the smoking ban. They stank of farts!

Hate loud yapping humans, or bratty kids, my dogs agree

ScribblingPixie · 18/02/2025 15:17

I understand it must be really off-putting to some, but I absolutely love it. I was at the baker's yesterday and there was a little well-behaved dog by the counter that couldn't stop sniffing and wagging its tail, it was so delighted by all the delicious smells. It really made me smile.
