to be alarmed that more and more places are allowing dogs?

Just went to Wilko recently who had a sign up saying all dogs welcome. Went to a bistro and they allowed dogs too. Had lunch listening to small yappy dogs.

Since when did it become acceptable to allow dogs into shops and food places?

Thanks for your input 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So a dog doesn’t slabber 🤔 and it wasn’t in the cafe 😂😂 sure !!

This happened and thankfully I wasn’t a nearby table. But it was completely gross! And nobody seemed to bother… like wtf.

The dog v children debate is hilarious! Let’s just invite the rodents and pests in to dine in with us too. Cos children are the same as animals 🤯 sure thing.

Whenever people post about an unusual personal experience which I did not witness, I am going to start posting ‘that didn’t happen’.

Or not. Because I am not stupid.

I think I will as well.

I was in my local cafe and a huge (well behaved) dog (Beethoven like) was at a nearby table. The dog shook itself in that way dogs usually do, and slabbers from its mouth went all over the nearby tables and into peoples food. It put me off my own food and we left.

for me, dogs are lovely but should not be where people are eating for this very reason.

Didn't happen and if you don't know, dogs don't randomly do a full body shake , they have to be wet to do it .
This thread is full of random bullshit about dogs, it's like a competition to see who can tell the tallest tales , I have difficulty believing most of these posts are from adults .

BSB30 · 29/04/2023 01:12

@wildinthecountry My dog always does full body shakes, usually when she wakes up. She's definitely not wet when she does it.

wildinthecountry · 29/04/2023 01:19

OK maybe if they've been in bed all night and their sorting out their fur ,dogs don't randomly shake like that, this thread is full of random made up bullshit, probably from children .

Honey you're meant to make your ridiculous story MORE plausible, not even more transparently bullshit to everybody with a brain cell.

RampantIvy · 29/04/2023 07:15

Oh yes they do.
Our English setter used to do this regularly.

Why do posters persist in not believing that this probably did happen?

wildinthecountry · 29/04/2023 07:42

A vast amount of posts on MN is made up bullshit , and a lot of these posts are tall stories .

True but I think this one probably did happen as we used to have a dog that did this.

Apriljane · 29/04/2023 08:19

I am allergic to dogs, I don’t want to be sneezing through my meal.

Krabappel · 29/04/2023 08:26

DriedFlowersLiveForever · 26/04/2023 12:29

We get it, lots of people don't like dogs on mn.
Real life is like a different world 🙄

Nobody likes the small happy aggressive ones

Agreed. This thread is a bunch of anti dog people fabricating stories to fit their narrative because - shock horror dogs being around is barely an inconvenience!

Dd was just walking past holding it and the last but fell from the wrapper it wasn’t even on purpose and the dog was so quick !!!

Never mind her wanting your details, she should have replaced the chocolate bar! 😁

It’s the way every dog thread goes. Apparently it’s impossible to have a picnic without it being raided by a dog. I’m about to enter my eighth decade and have never seen it happen.

DisquietintheRanks · 29/04/2023 08:59

Absolutely @Crikeyohreilly . It's like all that dog shit on the pavements and bags of shit hanging up in woodlands. Doesn't exist.

Grumpusaurus · 29/04/2023 09:23

Ah, another dog hating thread...

Nah completely agree with those stories and I also think it’s disgusting and I have no problem pulling up a dog owner for said mess if I see it. If you have a dog then you are responsible for it and you clean up after it simple as that!

However, it’s the absolutely over the top bs half this thread is spouting. Savage dogs terrorising innocent, delicate patrons as they enjoy a meal or a pint. I give kudos for imagination but the stories lack plausibility and what’s that other key detail, oh yes truth. We can all make up ridiculous stories to fit the narrative of our point but if people are going to do it they should at least try to make it believable!

Tinybrother · 29/04/2023 09:31

I’m going to remember all the “it’s ok it didn’t really happen” stuff when the next “child behaving anti socially in cafe” thread comes up (today probably).

I really like dogs, I grew up with them and my parents have a lovely calm well-trained dog. One of my children doesn’t like dogs because they were bowled over by an excited puppy in the park when they were a toddler, it was very frightening for them. I basically just have to carry them a lot anywhere dogs aren’t on a lead because many dogs won’t keep away from them and many owners don’t bother to try.

I’m not actually that bothered by dogs in cafes or whatever because it’s about the venue owners making money by letting dogs in, but if everyone is going to say badly behaved dog tales are made up then I can only assume the same is true of badly behaved children tales.

I think some of the children behaving badly stories are also made up and exaggerated also!

I agree. But people don’t say that on those threads so much in my experience. They egg each other on with judgement of terrible modern parenting.

And as I haven’t even witnessed some of the less wild ones, based on this thread maybe I should assume that all of them are untrue because I personally haven’t experienced them.

I’ll be honest I don’t read those threads much so can’t comment but I’d certainly call out anyone I feel is embellishing the truth of a story. I don’t dispute that there are bad dogs and horrific irresponsible dog owners out there - I’ve seen them myself but making up or exaggerating stories to fit a narrative actually makes a mockery of the point they are trying to make. I’ve seen far more well behaved dogs in public spaces than I’ve seen bad ones and I think if people were honest on here they’d say the same.

Tinybrother · 29/04/2023 10:04

As with badly behaved children, you don’t notice the well behaved ones

123Sharon · 29/04/2023 10:36

I’m allergic to kids. We all have our crosses to bear. 🙄. Your weakness doesn’t mean we should all suffer. Anyway, from a financial point of view, it’s clearly worth it for businesses to be dog friendly so tough.

If you were allergic to kids you be dead. You'd have died as a kid. HTH.

You do you (bullshit bullshit) and I’ll do me.. tell an honest to god story of what happened . The dog was wet from drinking out a massive bowl of water. Mind your own and take your own bullshit comments elsewhere.
