I am very irritated with the Tesco one where the shopping trolley secure a man from a well with a string of sausages

YES! Another one on ITV X all the bloody time! And the song used is also an annoying ear worm. It's for Tesco Mobile.

Laiste · 27/04/2023 09:37

I see very few ads because of our viewing habits, but did catch the grinning faces Tesco one the other day and thought it was some kind of glitch/wind up.

Fucking HORRIFYING! 😲 I mean who ... why ... ??

The daisy, daisy, daisy advert used to be my most hated advert but that's been over taken by all the We Buy Any Car ads.

Oh no, I've leaned into ( and I hate that term too!) that one. We sing it on the school run like the saddos we are!

hellswelshy · 26/04/2023 07:36

Worst one for me recently is the Dominies one where she keeps saying the word 'quid' - small pizzas for ten quid, medium for twelve quid etc...aaaargh stop it, just say pounds!!
But my favourite is the washing powder one where they all dramatically sing 'where is the sun?' opera style - that's how I feel atm!! 😂

@hellswelshy, are you me? I could've written this! 😂😂

I can't get past the thought "But strings of sausages are never that long, and they wouldn't take a man's weight anyway". If the stupid trolley is collecting something from Tesco's to rescue him, surely it could find something more useful?

The ad for Supernoodles where the old woman has a donkey on her back. WTF????

I really hate that super noodles ad when the donkey shouts it always makes me want to throw something at the TV to shut it up.
There's no good adverts these days years used to be some great ones years ago.

Who the fucking Jeff thought of it? It - the trolley - takes a piss up a tree!!!! Why? In real life it would be pulling to one side all round the Big Tesco and yet no, this little fucker is wheeling itself around on grass and gravel. Don't start me on the sausages and the fact it's on every advert break on ITVX.

The Haribo one with the two policemen in a car. Creeps me out

Also, a holiday one - Jet2? "Baby hold my hand.." with the woman dragging her partner round while he films her.

Ah yes, the baby hold my hand advert, whoever its for! Although I silently seethe as I think, as least her bloody boyfriend wants to take her picture on holiday!

When I get back from mine, theres none of me as I'm the only one who bothers to bloody well take any.

Can't stand any of the Verisure ads. The acting is beyond terrible on all of them!

Same!

The one where she vends Working for them - she looks so annoyed she’s in that red uniform!

I do like the lidl ad (blind taste test)

And the Hey Car ad. It’s catchy. Oh and the man with the curtains hairstyle way beyond it’s in fashion. I keep trying to work out if it’s the same man!

Trez1510 · 27/04/2023 13:34

Yes to everything everyone has said about Daisy, Perfect, Flash, Verisure etc. Like others I achieve acrobatic moves I'd usually consider impossible to mute the remote when these adverts come on!

For me it's whispering in adverts. Gives me the creeps. Used to be Secret Escapes (or some such), now it's a Tresemme conditioner. Arrrrgggghhhh!!

Nothing is as annoying as the daisy ad, unless it's the perfect perfume ad.

the one with the man on his laptop talking to some big shit american and his kid is running around with a whistle, i only took notice of it so i can avoid their product

something about noise cancelling shit ir something

And he waits until the kid is really making a racket and has irritated everyone on the call before he turns it on. If he's such an idiot that he-

  1. Gives his kid a whistle
  2. Starts a call with his kid in the room
  3. Waits until his whistling kid deafens everyone else
-then he shouldn't get the contract.

I don't watch telly, so haven't seen many ads, but there was a very disturbing one on YouTube the other day for Philips.

It consisted of a man in a tiara trying to shave his genitals while being watched by a small dog!

I'm sure I didn't imagine it...

Redebs · 28/04/2023 14:07

Sorry OP
Think I killed your thread!

HeadbandOverMyEyes · 28/04/2023 14:35

I mean where do you even go from there Grin

ohyouknowwhatshername · 28/04/2023 15:02

I hate the one with the 3 pregnant women sitting with their mugs chatting. Saying things like "this little life changer" and patting their bumps. All 3 have annoying voices.
Also hate the 'daisy daisy daisy' crap.

morekidsthanhands · 28/04/2023 15:08

I was SURE someone would have mentioned the nationwide ads before I opened this thread. I've been watching mafs on catchup and it's 4 times an episode or something ridiculous.
Awful as about how poor we all are with a woman talking about shopping in bargain bins and a man joking about limiting the milk in his kids cereal. Yuck.

ALongHardWinter · 28/04/2023 15:10

The adverts that get me are the ones where someone starts talking enthusiastically about a funeral plan they've taken out. I mean, really? Do people actually do this IRL?!

ohyouknowwhatshername · 28/04/2023 15:15

That awful one with Ian Botham "Coming for a walk, Sue? I can see you've been using Revitalive". Oh feck off.

ALongHardWinter · 28/04/2023 15:16

The advert I hate most of all is a radio one. It's for Harris and Fowler,a firm that gets compensation for people who have been injured. I don't know what it is about the woman's voice that infuriates me so much! The way she says 'compensation' makes me want to throw the radio across the room. And her voice, the only way I can describe it is 'sticky' or 'springy'. It sounds like her words are bouncing or reverberating off a springy surface,if that makes sense! And it's not helped by the fact that this advert is played during EVERY SINGLE BASTARD AD BREAK.

ILookAtTheFloor · 24/04/2023 18:18

My worst one at the moment is Lloyds Bank, the horses ones, particularly the 'this girl is on FIRE!' one as it's on ITV X alllllll the time. Their advertising budget for telly must be huge, it's on every ad break.

The We Buy Any Car ones- genius ad, what an earworm, yes annoying but give that ad exec a raise, great marketing.

Argh the Lloyd's Bank horses one drives me nuts. Meant to be inspiring just comes off patronising. Oh I didn't realise you bred beautiful horses and healed the world in between screwing savers, repossessing homes and diddling taxpayers whilst buying up failed investment banks. How lovely!

I prefer adverts from the 80s and 90s, they were cheekier somehow and more memorable? Cadbury's Flake, You've Been Tangoed, Red Car and Blue Car, Cillit Bang etc etc. They had an edge to them whereas today's ads and more like audiovisual Prozac, or that's how it feels to me

Somanysocks · 28/04/2023 15:55

On the Asda one, I hadn't noticed he was years later, I just thought she was rude to shut the door in his face. It didn't make sense to me.

ShinyPikachu · 28/04/2023 16:10

Someone earlier mentioned the awful "bulky pee pad" women and while I despise them, the other day I was watching something that in an ad break had the other one with the Irish woman sitting on the toilet for how awful it is. I don't need to see someone sitting on the loo with their trousers round their ankles for any reason. I hadn't seen that one for a while until then as well.
