Someone's taken credit for anonymous treat!

Quick silly one but not sure what to do.

Friend has had a hard time so I've sent them a cream tea type surprise treat. Left the card anonymous but she finds it difficult to receive without reciprocating and I wanted her to have something just for her with no strings, to cheer her up.

She posts it on social media, another Friend (I don't know) comments, saying enjoy, glad you like, you deserve it type thing

My friend says ahhhh was it you, youre amazing

Other friend says wink wink it's anonymous so I guess you'll never know

Now, to me there alluding it was then. Taking all the bloody credit. I know I didn't send it for credit or even thanks but I'm a little pissed off!

So hello again!
So a quick recap. Well what I can remember (forgive me if I miss anything but really can’t reread the whole thing)
⁃ I sent my friend a cream tea anonymously
⁃ She put it on the book of faces and thanked the sender
⁃ Her work friend (cheeky fucker or cf) STRONGLY alluded to her being the sender
⁃ cf got lots of praise and even got tagged in the original post and the cafe post
⁃ I told friend it was me who sent it
⁃ Cf backtracked and told friend it wasn’t her but never confirmed this on Facebook
⁃ This thread then went on to be a love letter to cream teas and related puddings and it thoroughly made my day.

One and a half year on
⁃ my friend never addressed cream tea gate with CF
⁃ Cf has since sent cream teas from said cafe to 3 work colleagues when they’ve had an operation/bereavement.
⁃ Friend shared the cream tea post as a memory and I did eventually get the limelight I thought I wasn’t seeking
⁃ my friend and I now have cream teas dates every 3 months during which she updates me on CF behaviour at work which I must say is CRAZY. We call our cream tea dates CF cream tea tea.. As in gossip about CFs exploits.

We're going to need more examples of her behaviour...

I thought as much. I've just asked my friend what I can share without it being too outing. I'm still convinced cf is a mumsnetter!

Wondering how many CF cream tea claimers there are out there....

How did your friend give you your credit on the memory post?? Was there a reaction?

No, she just let it be inferred.

She tagged me and said "the start of our cream tea dates" or something along those lines. CF hearted that too 🤣

So far, so invested!

So I've agreed with my friend that I won't share anything that relates to her actual work. That feels a bit wrong.

But here's a couple of the weird colleague related things she's been known to do- seems to fit in more with this thread!

• Their admin lady has a special OH chair. Set a certain way. CF will sit in it and lower it by 1 bar, to see if admin lady notices.

• they all take it in turns to buy refreshments. CF buys decaf coffee as it's cheaper but doesn't tell anyone. My friend only drinks tea so CF felt safe to disclose this to her.

• Will never contribute to collections but will instead send her own gifts to the recipient. Hence the 3 cream tea gifts

• leaves notes for the (contracted) cleaners telling them areas to concentrate on (not her job role).

Apparently they are like a page long.

• Every time they have an office fuddle she will bring in her leftovers. As in dinner left overs, rearranged in a sort of bubble and squeak type way.

Also. Back tracking to the cream tea. Can I alert you all to this:

If you were to take cream out of the equation, you'd put jam on top of butter. Cream is the butter of a cream tea, therefore jam goes on top.

I didn't realise till I wrote this that it's the hill I'm prepared to die on.
