Soooooooo many dog threads

What's going on on Mumsnet at the moment? So so many dog threads every day. Is it one person that's got super pissed off with dogs and is using lots of different usernames to start new threads? What's going on?

I found the first few I saw last week quite interesting, but in the last hour alone I've seen more than 4 pop up on here.

What's with the dog threads? 🐶

Despite not having a dog and not liking dogs at all, I find dog threads weirdly addictive reading.

Oysterbabe - are you the mystery multiposter with various usernames? Or Pookiedoodlepuppy's dog?

It is because the dog nutters on MN are so sincerely, utterly, humourlessly batshit.

It is eye-opening to watch them melt down on behalf of any perceived slight or offense to a dog.

Admit it you like reading about other people's houses covered in shit and smugly thinking I'm so glad that's not me . lol😁

Theunamedcat · 19/04/2023 19:19

Since its stopped pissing it down everyone has started bringing out their "precious" doggys these fair weather dog owners are different to the year round sort they have badly behaved dogs outrageous entitlement and don't care if you saw my dog shit that is NOT my dog shit and I WONT be picking it up THANK YOU attitude about them

Jerks the bloody lot of them

Jivens · 19/04/2023 19:29

OP you must have a dog because you don’t seem to be able to compare how unbelievably selfish and (a word that gets bandied about too much but needs must) entitled those that let their dog off the lead in public are.

no one wants their picnic ruined
no one wants their kids terrorised
no one wants anyone to be mauled

grow up, this is serious. Dogs need to be one leads in all public places.

Spottycarousel · 19/04/2023 19:31

Reading this thread reminds me why I am a dog person!

I wasn't raising whether the posts were right or wrong, whether (some) dog owners are selfish or not etc.. I was merely interested in the fact there have been so so many dog threads on here recently! Some aren't even about behaviour or good/bad owners - one was about whether you'd sell your dog for a million pounds, there's one about whether someone should move if the partner won't get rid of the dog, one about whether to sell the dog etc... Of course, as well as loads of threads about how they shouldnt be off the lead/on a muzzle etc.. and loads about the dangers of dogs...

Dogs, every time!

Ontopofthesunset · 19/04/2023 19:38

There are more dogs than ever before, after Covid, and, if you don't much like dogs and/or are genuinely scared of them, you encounter a lot of very entitled and inconsiderate dog owners and their dogs. You also encounter lots of lovely, thoughtful dog owners, but since there are so many dogs, you meet more inconsiderate owners than you would wish.

bigbluebus · 19/04/2023 19:42

So many dogs, so many useless irresponsible owners. I've been jumped on twice in the last week in separate retriever incidents in different settings. Both owners seemed to think I should love their dogs as much as they do. I'm getting pretty fed up of muddy paw prints on my clothes when I don't even own a dog.

I love well behaved dogs and responsible owners.

MissDollyMix · 19/04/2023 19:46

Because dog-haters can’t comprehend that not everyone thinks like them and won’t stop buggering on until everyone thinks exactly like them.
Im personally so fucking sick of kids coming up to my dog and molesting her. It happens daily. I get followed down the street by them too… Wish parents would teach their kids some recall. One grandmother shouted at me because I was in too much of a hurry to let her grandson pet my dog. Managed 40 years without being accosted by a random dog (as seems to be so frequent on these threads) but this seems to happen daily.

Nowhere near as bad as the insane cat people if you dare to suggest you don't want catshit in your garden.

Well this went downhill quickly .
