Friend told daughter to 'fuck off and die'

My daughter and her friend are both 10, unbeknownst to me yesterday whilst I was in the shower, they pranked called a few of my friends. I found out because one of my friends text me to tell me. I said no more and that was that.

This morning daughter says to me, 'when we prank called your friend, 'Pete' he told us to 'fuck off and die' three times.'

I wasn't really sure how to handle the situation as they obviously shouldn't have been prank calling but also I think it's pretty obvious they are children.

So I text Pete and the messages went like this -

Me - Hey did you say to Amelia to go fuck herself and die yesterday, she said her and her friend prank called you yesterday, I didn’t know. Did you not realise it was her I presume? Xx

Pete - I didn't until she said her name!!! My intuition was right!!!

I don't really know what he means but I feel really uncomfortable about this.

Am I being dramatic? Should I leave it at that? Is it their own fault for prank calling?

The OP's daughter should take it as a lesson on what happens when you wind people up, there are plenty of people out there who would consider 'FOAD' to be a very mild and considered response and would say far worse......

Im betting they said pussy instead of cat, and are trying to play it off to their parent like they were offering him a kitten, when really they were pretending to be sex workers.

I’d bet £1.50 on this being the case.

Yes, I bet you’re right!! I thought the cat thing didn’t make any sense.

Of course! Why didn't we see it before? The cat thing made no sense, but this absolutely does. And would also deserve the response they got from Pete.

Yes, yes and yes.

😂
No.

foulksmills · 17/04/2023 22:41

You can see where the daughter gets it from 😆

Go on, OP. You first though.

UnctuousUnicorns · 17/04/2023 22:42

That you, Amelia?

AngryGreasedSantaCatcus · 17/04/2023 22:43

Wonder what the poster who takes it literally will do now. Dun ...dun... dun...

What is your problem?

They're 10, most children prank call at some point, It's hardly a criminal offence

Pete doesn't sound very nice

Erm… actually it kind of is illegal under section 127 of the Communications Act 2003, which states it is an offence to send false or grossly offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing messages…

Perhaps @leepingup you should have a proper chat with your daughter about legal, ethical and moral behaviour and consequences.

Saltired · 17/04/2023 22:59

Aw man what did I miss?! Can someone message me!

UnctuousUnicorns · 17/04/2023 23:05

Amel sorry I mean the OP invited us all to do as Uncle Pete suggested. 😗

Jonei · 18/04/2023 00:27

Why did it get deleted? I thought it was quite funny.

Bet you are right, this sounds more plausible!

Greensunflower123 · 18/04/2023 08:16

@leepingup back in the real world most normal people would be a lot more upset at an adult repeatedly telling a 10 year old to fuck yourself and die than a 10 year old being mildly naughty , ( which she got told off for ), and traumatising Pete by asking him to buy a cat for £1.50.

I can understand his response if he thought it was a random adult dialling random numbers being silly , but when he found out it was his friends 10 year old daughter, a normal person would have been embarrassed and apologised for swearing .

As for the posters who really believe the girls are lying, and the most likely explanation is two ten year olds would phone their mum's friend, pretend to be sex workers and offer to sale their pussy to him, seek help. 😞That is literally the most grim and disturbing reaching I've seen in Mumsnet for a while .

UnctuousUnicorns · 18/04/2023 10:31

Following the OP's latest update, I'm surprised this thread hasn't yet been deleted for the troll fest that it clearly is, tbh.

leepingup · 18/04/2023 10:51

Perhaps because I'm not a troll?

Oh blast, I missed it too. What was OP saying?

foulksmills · 18/04/2023 15:21

Nothing very clever, Veronica. The OP basically just instructed 'you all' to do what what Pete suggested her daughter do. OP only said it once though.

Gridhopper · 18/04/2023 19:31

@Greensunflower123

Exactly! The girls have been called dicks, cunts, feral and now accused of pretending to be sex workers. Who thinks like this?!

Delightful.

Vitriolinsanity · 18/04/2023 20:37

Perhaps Amelia's not bothered as "fuck yourself and die" is something she's quite used to hearing. Which is somewhat more concerning than Pete.

I report very little on Mumsnet, but honestly the posts that dreamt up some weird , grim alternative reality where people suggested the OP should imagine her ten year old daughter had pretended to be a prostitute and offered to "sale her pussey for £1.50," to a middle aged man made me want to vomit .

And @leepingup is the bad guy for telling these weirdos to go f* off 🙄I think she's been very restrained given the vitriol and disgusting and completely made up allegations that her 10 year old daughter tried to sale herself for sex.
