I get a lash lift every 6ish weeks and my nails done when I'm off work.

I get an expensive (£210) treatment on my hair twice a year that makes it much easier to manage.

That's it but my DP thinks it's excessive?!

I really don't think it is? What do you get?

MajesticWhine · 08/04/2023 00:28

Hair cut and colour every six weeks.
Eyebrow thread every 3 or 4 weeks or whenever...
that's it really.
Can't be arsed with nails really- maybe once a year

80sMum · 08/04/2023 00:29

Absolutely none at all!

mindutopia · 08/04/2023 00:40

I haven’t had a haircut other than what I’ve done myself since before COVID. Honestly can’t be asked.

I used to get my hair done professionally about every 6-9 months. But realised that frankly it didn’t make much difference. So just cut it myself now.

I do have things like massages, facials, other spa treatments regularly.

I book and pay for everything myself so even if dh didn’t like it (he doesn’t give a shit), it wouldn’t matter as my own money anyway, as it should be.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 08/04/2023 00:49

Haircut 2-3 times a year. Wash and blow dry for a wedding/special occasion. That’s about it but more because I am rubbish at sorting my own stuff out. I’d love to do nails regularly but mine hate gels and it destroys them.
I take it your husband spends nothing on himself, a hobby or “essential” power tools?

ProseccoandPizza · 08/04/2023 02:01

Hair half head of foils/baylage alternating every 8-12 weeks £115.
Lash extensions that are infilled every 2 weeks £30
Acrylic nails every 3 weeks £25
Gel pedi £35 every month
brow wax and tint every month £18

Abbodabs · 08/04/2023 04:19

i have highlights every couple of months but inbetween I do my own roots.
lashes,nails,pedicure.
teeth whitening.
cut twice a year.
fake tan myself.
my own home lazer.
filler ever other year

LaDamaDeElche · 08/04/2023 08:00

Just hair cut and coloured every 6 weeks which costs around 80€. If I had more spare money I’d get a lot more done - probably a facial once a month as well as a massage. I do my own nails, so wouldn’t get them done. Any time I have I’ve destroyed them before I’ve got home as I don’t let them dry properly 😂 False nails are a no for me. I can’t get anything done with them. They feel so weird.

edenhills · 08/04/2023 08:29

None.

tammie49 · 08/04/2023 09:46

More than I used to. I go to the hairdressers every 6-8 weeks but only get a colour on alternate visits. I get a bikini wax and my brows waxed and tinted. I have my nails done every so often and my toe nails in the summer.

Sooz817 · 08/04/2023 19:59

Nails every 3 weeks
chin and eyebrow wax every 6-8 weeks
hair cut once or twice a year

NotAnotherUserNumber · 08/04/2023 20:48

Nothing…. And now I am feeling very inadequate reading about the thousands of pounds a year others are spending!

Wtf2023 · 08/04/2023 21:03

Can I ask what the hair treatment is? Need some recommendations!

19lottie82 · 08/04/2023 21:16

Hair £125 every 3 months.
Eyebrows £8 every six weeks or so.
Nails and toes done a few times a year £50 a go.
2 or 3 massages a year £45 each.

MeridaBrave · 08/04/2023 21:37

Haircut and colour around 3 times a year, around £80 each time. Other than that I colour it myself. I get one get one gel pedicure, around £35 at start of the sandal wearing season. Nothing else.

sodabreadjam · 08/04/2023 21:57

Haircut (short hair) every six weeks - mobile hairdresser costs £30 for me and DH.

Don’t dye my hair - embraced the grey after home dyes stopped working.

Don’t do false nails - even nail varnish wrecks my nails.

Don’t have any eyebrow treatments.

BUT - willing to spend a bit on perfumes (bit of an addict), good quality face and body moisturisers, hand cream, shower oils, shampoos and conditioners.

NotHangingAround · 08/04/2023 22:17

Hair cut twice a year. Brow wax or threading about twice a year too.

Don't! I'm completely amazed. I've always wondered who does all this stuff - my friends don't. I've never even had my nails done. I hope you enjoy doing something else with all the money you save!

Bienemajas · 09/04/2023 08:18

Neither or any of my friends spend money on anything other than an occasional hair cut and colour.

I look after my skin and nails by eating well, drinking water, using moisturiser and sun protection.

I also wonder whether i would even look good with fake eye brows, fillers and fake nails? I think not.

Why would others spending make you feel inadequate?! I probably spend more on my feet and less on everything else than others. Doesn’t mean anything!

Emotionalstorm · 09/04/2023 14:25

Haircut every 4-6 months £58 each
Facial with medical aesthetician every 6 weeks £450-600 depending treatment they recommend

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 09/04/2023 14:31

£150 ish for hair colour and cut every 12 weeks so or

Im99912 · 09/04/2023 14:56

Don’t feeling inadequate-feel smug about the money you aren’t wasting..

Don’t feeling inadequate-feel smug about the money you aren’t wasting..

Why? She doesn’t need to feel inadequate, but why should she feel smug?

People can spend their money on what they like, and just because it’s not what you choose to spend on does not mean that it’s wasted.

Last few months I’ve only been spending about £30 on my brows.
