I get a lash lift every 6ish weeks and my nails done when I'm off work.

I get an expensive (£210) treatment on my hair twice a year that makes it much easier to manage.

That's it but my DP thinks it's excessive?!

I really don't think it is? What do you get?

Nothing. We became rather skilled at haircuts during lockdown, so all hair maintenance is kept in house.

NowItsSpring · 06/04/2023 11:56

Just a hair cut every 6 - 8 week, £35, works fine for me.

Fairislefandango · 06/04/2023 12:01

Hair cut every 8-10 weeks ish and highlights twice a year. That's it.

Walterwhiteswifey · 06/04/2023 12:01

Nail acrylics, infilled every 3 weeks £30
Hair cut and colour every 5 weeks £100

I love make up and take great pride in my appearance, so spend a fair amount on make up and clothes. I also think it's good for my mentality.

I wouldn't say yours is excessive at all!

Georgiarule · 06/04/2023 12:07

Gel nails every 3 weeks £35
massage and cupping every 3 weeks £55
alternate months between micro needing £40 and Hydrafacial £50 (discounted rate)
hair every 5 weeks, scalp beach and tone £90
botox every 3 months 3 areas £180

I have my own at home laser but considering if it doesn’t work getting it done professional

skin + me (medical grade skincare) subscription £20 a month

SinisterKnitter · 06/04/2023 12:14

Nothing.

adularia · 06/04/2023 12:21

Highlights and a trim twice a year. That’s it.

FinallyHere · 06/04/2023 12:22

Weekly blow dry, monthly cut & colour

Eyebrow micro blading every 3 years

Massage esp back exfoliation and then they rub in oil, absolute bliss.

Don't regularly wear makeup, but would take it off before sleeping anytime I do.

Most days remember to apply a drop of rose oil serum to my face and rub creme into my body after my shower.

Always apply foot creme before putting on socks.

L'occitane almond shower oil and whatever their matching exfoliant is called.

BabychamGlass · 06/04/2023 12:23

Botox. That's it.

Everything else I do myself. Shame I can't do my own Botox Grin

Roozkitty · 06/04/2023 12:25

Haircut 3x a year. Nothing else.

Jacketspudtunamayo · 06/04/2023 12:25

Botox 3/4 times a year

A new hyaluronic acid booster injections in face, neck & chest

Facials

That is all I do. I should really get my nails done again but I’m going through a phase of preferring life without them at the moment x

RichardHeed · 06/04/2023 12:27

Nothing. But I can’t afford and I hate people faffing with me. Ideally I’d like to get my brows done (microbladed) as they’re tragic but 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve never been to the hairdresser since I was 16 though. I do that at home.

Wednesdaysotherchild · 06/04/2023 12:28

A hair cut once every few years (long curly hair, trim myself usually), otherwise nothing.

itssquidstella · 06/04/2023 12:32

Hair cut about four times a year
Bikini wax once every 4-6 weeks
Manicure and/or pedicure a few times a year
Eyebrow threading once every 4-6 weeks

That's it! I’m pretty low maintenance.

Nalupa · 06/04/2023 12:34

Hair cut and colour 2-3 times a year. Cost about £140 each time.

I don't get my lashes, brows, nails done regularly at all. I might get my nails done if I'm going to a special occasion... Or I might just use those glue-on nails.

ThePoshUns · 06/04/2023 12:35

Hair cut and highlights every 12 weeks £100.
Do everything else myself, have an epilator, UV nail lamp.

CreepyDibillo · 06/04/2023 12:36

Nails every 3 weeks
Hair cut and colour every 6-8 weeks
Brows microbladed every 10-11 months
Last lift every 6 weeks (used to have extensions every 3 weeks but don't have time any more)
I am considering regular facials but haven't started yet.
I also spend a lot of money on skincare products.

Yours isn't excessive at all and tbh, unless DP is paying for your treatments or you go into debt to have them, it is absolutely none of his business.

Number24Bus · 06/04/2023 12:37

Hair coloured every 12 weeks and cut twice a year. Nothing else.

Spidey66 · 06/04/2023 12:39

Hair cut and highlighted every 2-3 months, though I didn't have the highlights last time. That's it. I'm low maintenance.

TicTac80 · 06/04/2023 12:39

I get eyebrows threaded maybe every couple of months. I get a hollywood wax maybe 4-6 times a year. I may get a haircut once or twice a year (otherwise I do it myself).

Otherwise, I have an epilator for legs/arms/pits, and an IPL to zap hairs (I have really dark hair and PCOS - great combo). I colour my own hair when I can be bothered. I've got a Sensationail home gel nail kit, so I will do my own nails (occasionally though!). I put face cream/oil on when I remember. I rarely wear makeup. I would like to get my lashes done, so they look a bit longer/thicker, but wouldn't know where to start with that!!!

It's only been in the last couple of years that I've figured that a little bit of self care isn't a bad thing, so I feel less guilty getting a wax or eyebrows threaded. I'm single (and plan to stay single) so no one will ever see my bits (unless I'm in a medical appointment or carted off to hospital!), but I feel better in myself getting waxed and getting threaded.

Pasadenadreaming · 06/04/2023 12:41

Hair cut when I can be bothered. Don't have the patience for anything else!!

SunhatsAndFlipFlops · 06/04/2023 12:43

It’s quite sporadic for me - a leg/bikini wax & nails done before I go on holiday.
Nails done if going to a wedding.
Family member is a hairdresser, so she does my hair a few times a year.
That’s about it.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 06/04/2023 12:46

Unless he’s paying it not his business.

Zipps · 06/04/2023 12:48

Mobile hairdresser trim 4 times a year £20 each.
Spa day with full body massage 3 times a year about £150 each.

Myneighbourskia · 06/04/2023 12:50

No nails done at the moment because I'm having a caesarean in a few weeks, but normally shellac every three weeks for 40 euro.
Haircut every 7 weeks, about 60 euro.
Colour every 2 months, 90 euro.
Occasional 'treat' treatment a few times a year 80 - 150 euro a time. My next one is in the Merrion Hotel in Dublin, so quite fancy.
I get eyebrows and upper lip done when I remember - about 30 euro.
Don't bother doing leg waxing much, maybe 3 times a year. So I suppose that's 50 euro a time.
