I get a lash lift every 6ish weeks and my nails done when I'm off work.

I get an expensive (£210) treatment on my hair twice a year that makes it much easier to manage.

That's it but my DP thinks it's excessive?!

I really don't think it is? What do you get?

I've never been inside a nail salon and look after my own hair. My cousin is a stylist and has come along to do the occasional trim but usually I manage it myself.
I thought about Botox and fillers etc but know if I started it would never end.
Not a boast but I could afford to pay for all kinds of things but choose not to. Am confident with my appearance and that means a lot to me.

YouJustDoYou · 06/04/2023 12:51

Absolutely none, but that's because I grew up with a mother who got into extreme debt and it affected me to the point I have pretty bad issues with spending money on anything that's not "vital to being alive", I tend to try and do anything for free as much as possible....if I could though, I would love, LOVE, to be a bit pampered, it looks like it would be so nice and feel nice...

mondaytosunday · 06/04/2023 12:51

Hair cut about four times a year, colour it myself.
Facial about every other month.
Pedicure about 3/4 times a year.

mondaytosunday · 06/04/2023 12:53

Forgot - get eyebrows waxed when I get the facial.

trickyfriendsone · 06/04/2023 12:55

OneAndDon3 · 06/04/2023 13:22

Hair colored and cut every four to five months -£200

Botox every five months - £290

Other than that I might get my lashes and nails done before a holiday.

FangsForTheMemory · 06/04/2023 13:39

Hair cut 3x a year
pedicure maybe once in five years

Shoxfordian · 06/04/2023 13:42

Do you live with your dp or rely on him for money? Otherwise it’s none of his business how much you spend op.

Fantapops · 06/04/2023 13:44

Chin & upper lip wax once a month

Brows once a month

Nails once a month

Lashes every two months

Hair every 3-4 months

GooglyEyeballs · 06/04/2023 13:58

None, but I hot wax myself at home and my nails grow too fast to be worth me paying for regular manicures. I used to get eyelash extensions done every 3 weeks but the salon changed the glue and they started falling out after a few days so I stopped. I don't even get my hair cut I just trim it myself twice a year because every time I've gone to a hair dresser they've cut off way more than I've given them permission to. I spend a decent amount on skincare 50-100 a month which is naughty but ho hum 😬

Mary46 · 06/04/2023 14:05

Hair cut every few months. 0 on waxing as invested in laser. Massages I loved but stopped as absess on my back. Nails just for holidays as too costly

wineandsun · 06/04/2023 14:09

Botox, gel nails, LV lashes, eye wax, dermaplaning

Itsbytheby · 06/04/2023 14:11

I'm always surprised that people spend about £500 a year on nails. I don't know why it surprises me so much.

Anyway,
hair cut 2-3 times a year, I used to go to a salon that was about £50, but my hairdresser left and I didn't like the new one I was allocated so use a mobile hairdresser now who does it for £20.
Eyebrow tidy and tint + lash tint every 8-10 weeks - £25
Just this year I started botox and I think I will continue as it makes me look so much fresher, so that's £250 every 6 months.

DoraSpenlow · 06/04/2023 14:11

Cut and blow dry every 8 to 10 weeks - £30.

Home hair colour every 6 - 7 weeks - £5.50.

Gel nails for special occasions or holidays approx 3 times a year £30 (includes removal).

Itsbytheby · 06/04/2023 14:11

Oh and I earn my own money so DH has absolutely no say in this.

HerRoyalStressHead · 06/04/2023 14:13

None. I do my own acrylics and My mum cuts and colours my hair.

maddening · 06/04/2023 14:13

I only get occasional treatments such as massage on a spa day, probably twice a year. I don't have my hair cut or coloured and do my own nails.

KimberleyClark · 06/04/2023 14:16

Six week cut and colour £150, nothing else.

Wiennetta · 06/04/2023 14:23

My local salon has a subscription service, £65 for LVL lashes and brows dyed/shaped every 5 weeks.
Pedicure every month in summer with gel nails, £40 - occasionally in winter if going away.
Hair cut every other month, £40.
Microbladed brows topped up every 12-18 months, £350.

Around £125 a month or so.

At home I paint fingernails, do hair masks, face masks etc. I pay for Dermatica prescription skincare about £25 a month too.

WhatTheHeckyPeck · 06/04/2023 14:25

Cut and colour as and when I need it £52 (6-8 weeks).

Facial and full body massage every 4 weeks £35.

That's it.

ghostyslovesheets · 06/04/2023 14:26

Nails every 3 weeks - £25
Hair every 8-10 weeks - cut and colour - £98
Botox every 4-6 months - £180

SleepingCatz · 06/04/2023 14:28

Hair cut every 7 weeks, t section of lowlights three times a year.

Probably three pedicures a year in the summer months.

I wax my own legs, bought a salon kit during COVID. I'd rather visit a salon but they're always booked up for a month when I think to look and I struggle to plan it in that far ahead.

Treacletoots · 06/04/2023 14:32

Filler once a year
Profhilo every 6 months
Botox when I need it
Highlights and a trim once every 6 months
Massages at least once a month

Most other stuff i do myself. I have an IPL device

I feel like I'm fairly low maintenance and just spend most of my money in skin care rather than makeup, that's my theory anyway.

Oblomov23 · 06/04/2023 14:36

Haircut every other month £30
Highlights twice a year £70
Nail varnish for a party, 3 times per year, £5.
Eyelash and eyebrow tint, twice a year, £15.
I'm cheap!
