To share my unmumsnetty traits?

These are a few things about me that's probably at odds with the predominant Mumsnet demographic :

  1. My DP went to one of the worst schools in London, his accent is very 'Blimey, Gav'nah' he left school at the minimum school leaving age with very low academic qualifications
  1. We don't have broadband as a family
  1. We never use Amazon as a family

I like my husband
I enjoy team building events - and actually think my boss' dislike of them is causing our team some problems
I am happy to offer lifts to someone/other people's children if they're going my way at about the same time.
I like my neighbours. I particularly like the fact that my next door neighbour and I constantly borrow ingredients from each other as, whilst the corner shop is only 5 mins away, it's a pain going there sometimes.
I expect most friendships to be transient with an element of convenience, linked to a particular job/hobby/stage of life. Therefore, if a person moves on from that job/hobby/stage of life, I don't agonise about it if they move on from the friendship too.

I don't go out daily with baby. Most days I stay home.

Don't do baby led weaning.

Don't go on holiday.

Am a keen gamer.

Think not even attempting to potty train a neurotypical child by age of three is letting them down a bit.

Forgot to add - use loads of pouches and jars for baby. Think they're great. And the toddler has been known to eat beige on occasion.

I don't have a mobile phone.
I swear like a trooper.
I drive a beat up old Skoda and I don't care.
I am extremely intelligent and earn a lot of money in a very niche job but you'd never guess in a million years if you met me.
I'm a slattern so have a cleaner.
Some days I don't bother getting dressed but I wfh so it doesn't matter.

I’m quite into fashion and have never owned a floral dress.

Mine and my husband’s finances are completely joint, he earns a huge amount more than I do and I don’t have a ‘get away’ fund.

Neither of us have ‘hobbies’ and I find the idea of an adult with a ‘hobby’ kind of anachronistic - a bit like watching a toddler drive a car.

I’m not anti trans and I have no idea what everyone on this site is talking about when they refer to people ‘not knowing what a woman is’.

I had my first kid in my twenties and our careers / financial situation has easily recovered. I actually pity women who do it later as I wouldn’t go back to the baby toddler stage for a million pounds.

I love a rave event, I'm into dance music. I regularly go out wearing my 12 year olds clothes.
I'm vegetarian and a bit hippy.

oh gawd, I just disagree about what the typical mn bias is. And think some people are weirdly proud of not being munsnetty despite being on Mumsnet.

I (believe I) am quite stylish and "put together" but that can't be possible of course because I AM NOT SLIM.

I have a lovely DH.

His hobby is football - goes home and away - I love the alone time.

But I'm an extrovert and love company.

I love my job and my colleagues are my friends. Ditto neighbours.

I am happy and confident.

I've been offered four jobs in my 50s.

I love unexpected guests and phone calls.

Towels get washed after several uses. Bedding when necessary.

I have never worn pj's during the day.

I love my in-laws.

I don't have children!

To be fair, your last one probably is the reason for alot of the others 😂.
