These are a few things about me that's probably at odds with the predominant Mumsnet demographic :

  1. My DP went to one of the worst schools in London, his accent is very 'Blimey, Gav'nah' he left school at the minimum school leaving age with very low academic qualifications
  1. We don't have broadband as a family
  1. We never use Amazon as a family

I use a loo brush

I wear things more than once before washing

DH does not have a very niche and outing hobby

The last one 🤣

Tealknittedjumpers · 04/04/2023 18:40

I also like my neighbours

custardbear · 04/04/2023 18:41

I let my cats out and they probably poop in other peoples gardens (as well as mine!)

I drink wine in the week! (After work ... it's not THAT bad!)

I couldn't produce enough milk so had to top up with formula when my kids were babies

Just remembered more!

I've been on benefits before (not currently though).

We don't cycle.

I was the first person in my family to go to uni.

I had children before 30.

Katesdeadbehindtheeyes · 04/04/2023 18:44

@YakobRiceMoorgan I wasn't at home grew up in a mix of Foster and Childrens homes but that's a whole other thread.
With the first SS was involved because of my age so I did have help. younger 2 I worked part time shifts around my ex husband work to look after them. It was the 90s so not as much help as now.

ghostyslovesheets · 04/04/2023 18:44

I don't live in the South East!
I don't earn over £30K
I didn't stress over my kids education or them going to a RG Uni
I LOVE carbs
I iron things
I own nothing from White Stuff

Jemimapinotduck · 04/04/2023 18:46
  • I had kids before marriage
  • Although my husband is self employed and I work full time we would probably only make approx 35k between us
  • towels are used way more than once before washing
  • Bedding isn't changed once a week
  • don't always meal plan
  • washing gets left to get darkened on
  • I love wine
I could go on but might take a while page by myself!!! 🤣🤣🤣
YakobRiceMoorgan · 04/04/2023 18:46

@Katesdeadbehindtheeyes bloody well done! xx

2bazookas · 04/04/2023 18:48

Gah, I bet OP never fed her family for an entire week on one chicken and a massive salad.

JKTrolling · 04/04/2023 18:49

I don’t spy on my husbands phone.
I couldn’t care less if he texts a female friend from work.
I read adult books.
I spend a lot of money on travel.
I’m not into wine o’clock.
I manage to keep it together if I don’t get a thank you card.
I’m happy to shop in M&S.
I own designer handbags.
I don’t shop in Aldi.
I don’t curtain twitch my neighbours.
I take in parcels for my neighbours.
I manage to get through most days without being triggered or clutching my pearls.
I couldn’t care less what someone else names their child.
I never encounter this random man that everyone talks about.

@YakobRiceMoorgan I'm nothing special people had it much worse than me. I think I'm really lucky SS and the support at the time helped. I managed to get back into education in my 20s so life has got better for and my family.

AgentProvocateur · 04/04/2023 18:51

My husband is amazing.

I have lots of friends.

i answer my door/phone without an appointment.

I get on well with my in-laws.

Oakyloaky · 04/04/2023 18:53

I smoke occasionally
Drink wine midweek
Get up at 10 if not working
I don’t have a problem with people calling in unannounced
Prefer talking on the phone rather than texting
I don’t swear very often and absolutely never called anyone a cunt
I actually really like my MIL
Happily look after Grandchild regularly and overnight
Eat a lot of carbs and not stress if I haven’t achieved 10.000 steps a day!

nickelbabe · 04/04/2023 18:53

How are they unmny?
My dh is very working class with no school qualifications, I'm from a very working class background (I did get a degree, but I still class myself as working class).
I can barely understand him talk sometimes...

We do have broadband.

We never use Amazon because they're bastard money grabbing ssharks with no ethics.

JMSA · 04/04/2023 18:55

GlassBunion · 04/04/2023 18:19

Married 32 years and never been abroad. Going abroad later in the year.

Hope you love it!

Well from what I gather MN don't seek out poor performing schools in deprived areas for their D.C.

I don’t drive, don’t holiday abroad, don’t have a dish washer or a tumble dryer.

Married the person I was dating at 15. I don’t offer trades people drinks and a chicken is one meal.

charity also starts in my house not other peoples. Not sorry at all.

OhmygodDont · 04/04/2023 18:57

Oh dh doesn’t even have a hobby. Unless you count hacking back trees and bushes on the land 😂

MavisMcMinty · 04/04/2023 18:57

I love dogs and my OH.

We are unmarried, and have been together 28 years.

We have no kids.

I never make the bed or iron anything.

I don’t read the Daily Mail.

I have no “immigration concerns” and didn’t vote to Leave the EU.
