These are a few things about me that's probably at odds with the predominant Mumsnet demographic :

  1. My DP went to one of the worst schools in London, his accent is very 'Blimey, Gav'nah' he left school at the minimum school leaving age with very low academic qualifications
  1. We don't have broadband as a family
  1. We never use Amazon as a family

Baneofmyexistence · 04/04/2023 20:03

My children have names in the top ten list.

I’m a SAHM who claims benefits (disabled child).

I eat more than 1000 calories a day and never fast.

Summerbubbles · 04/04/2023 20:09

I don't mind if my husband eats the leftovers from the fridge, I'm not saving them for anything special.

I eat a whole pizza in one go, not just one slice.

Rudicoolcat · 04/04/2023 20:12

I don't live in London and wouldn't want to
I don't have children but if I did, they would probably get an occasional smack
I don't have pets
I have never been vegan or vegetarian, have no food allergies and will eat practically anything, except turnips
I don't read the full thread, unless it's very funny

poormanspombears · 04/04/2023 20:17

I had my first child after 30 and before marriage
I don't gentle parent and think it's a load of shit personally
My kids don't eat veg with every meal

My husband doesn't have a crap hobby that I can't talk about in fear of being outed
I don't vote

Twattergy · 04/04/2023 20:20

Love my neighbours - we even sit in our front gardens together drinking wine in the summer

I have three kids sharing one bedroom and will until they have moved out

OhmygodDont · 04/04/2023 19:17

Pretty sure voting Tory would make you unMumsnetty.

They love labour here.

Yep agree it’s mostly wall to wall Labour these days

Re op I find people irl really friendly, helpful and pretty much happy

ChilliHeelerFanClub · 04/04/2023 20:31

Sapphire387 · 04/04/2023 18:28

I'm not obsessed with dogs.

I don't think smacking a child on the bottom occasionally is 'abuse'.

I live in social housing.

Holy moly, it didn’t take long for a reply that sent my eyebrows into my hairline 😂

I’m not British, not a Tory, use a toilet brush and am not GC.

HotSince82 · 04/04/2023 20:31

I don't use this place as a means to attempt to make other people feel like shit.

I actually quite like my life and feel rather guilty about my good fortune rather than entitled to it.

I have more than the prescribed two children.

My DH is younger than me and I was pregnant within months of meeting him.

I'm close to my mum and plan on looking after her in her old age. MIL too, cos why the hell not?

I have a good salary but save none of it.

I have a dog but she's a pet, not a family member.

Chocolatelabradorsarethebest · 04/04/2023 20:37

I like my MIL.

I like my job and work colleagues and (shock horror) am happily in a WhatsApp group with them and don’t only do precisely my working hours each day.

I’m not obsessed with class

I’m not obsessed with being frugal (I’ve never seen / heard that word used as much as it is on here!)

Enjoy my hot tub.
Kids have a chocolate biscuits in their lunch box every day.
I enjoy a drink 🍸

EatYourVegetables · 04/04/2023 20:48

@RagingWoke read the thread title, it was not called “prove you’re the most mumsnetty mumsnetter ever by pretending to not even understand that other people live differently”.

Cosyblankets · 04/04/2023 20:49

I'm a landlord
I am Mrs Husbandname
I wear shoes in the house
I answer the door
I got married abroad

Riapia · 04/04/2023 20:52

I’ve never eaten naice ham.
Never sat anybody down to tell them anything.
Never asked a stranger for help in naming my child.
Don’t think every man that looks at me is a sleaze.
Never worn trainers with a dress.

Apart from that I appear fairly normal.

Botw1 · 04/04/2023 18:16

I'm not English.

Or middle class

Or a tory.

Or have a toddler /baby/primary school age child

I'm not a sahm and have my own money

I expect my dh to do a fair share of parenting and housework and not be a prick.

He does not earn 100k.

why do you think most people on MN are tories?

“Who are you going to vote for” threads have always been very Labour leaning, even when Labour was under Corbyn.

also, not that many SAHM on here really. “I’m not like other girls vibes”

(and, anecdotally, I’m not middle class, earning £100k, and I don’t have children or a partner, never mind one that could get away with not doing housework, but I fit in fine on MN)

flowertoday · 04/04/2023 21:06

I don't vote tory. I really couldn't.

I have more than 2 children, and my children share bedrooms. We can't afford lots of foreign holidays and don't buy anything new tbh.

I am the main earner, sadly not on over £100,000 though. My husband earns close to minimum wage, but is a decent human being. We share all the work of parenting luckily.

I have no idea really on the adulting front , but am happy to make it up as I go along with no shame. I lack the conviction of many mumsnetters.

Botw1 · 04/04/2023 21:06

Thinks @TheMarzipanDildo has missed the point of the thread....

Nah, don’t think so.

just don’t reckon MN is Tory (compared to the rest of the country.
