About the Mumsnet 'Massive Salad?'

I just thought over the weekend about some of the food threads on here recently and wondered if it would be a good idea to develop the idea of a 'Mumsnet Massive Salad' to be sold in major supermarkets? It would be prepackaged, have a variety of raw veg but .... and I absolutely stress this - absolutely no dressing whatsoever - far too calorific!! So a completely 'clean' salad! Also it should be in biodegradable packaging so ... no plastics ! There must be a market for it and a lot of people would want to try it out of intrigue. Would have to be 'massive' though !

Love her! Yuri Lamasbella for anyone who’s interested.

I actually had a Massive Salad for lunch and it tickled me as I was making it that it was Mumsnet-approved (well until I threw a load of mayonnaise on it).

Florissante · 04/04/2023 15:27

Great idea. Especially if you sell it with some "good bread" or "crusty bread".

Lwrenagain · 04/04/2023 15:29

With "picky bits" on the side or not allowed?

And NO CARROTS as the sugar sticks are basically junk and will make your teeth rot.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 04/04/2023 15:30

I like a big chopped salad. Leafy salads don't hit the spot in the same way for me.

LaughenderUkaliptussRowsMarie04042023 · 04/04/2023 15:30

With a side of 'naice ham' and the mythical 5 day chicken aka golden goose.

HarrietSchulenberg · 04/04/2023 15:32

It could be marketed with a ready cooked, 20lb, 6 legged chicken - the one that everyone seems to buy to feed their huge family for a week.

I don't know the difference?

it would surely be available as a triple deal. like those petrol station pack lunch (sandwhich juice crisps "saving deals")perhaps some good/crusty bread +a cheeky wee bottle of wine(which none of the salad mafs ever confess to having sunk/despite appearing to be skipping using a glass).Perhaps "relateable"supermarkets could swing the sales pitch with mn stealth points???

rileynexttime · 04/04/2023 15:38

Could someone post ingredients of a MN massive salad ?

Laiste · 04/04/2023 15:39

Joking aside in summer i often buy one of the biggish Tesco salads in a thin plastic bowl (salad leaves, peppers, tomatoes, sweetcorn + optional dressing) and bung in a whole one of their pots of prawn cocktail.

It makes a massive salad ...
Not low calorie, but not intended to be. Delish.

sst1234 · 04/04/2023 15:39

Not as good an idea as the MN chicken that can feed a family of 4 for the whole week.

derbylass81 · 04/04/2023 15:40

Love the salad shaking Kardashian impersonator.

Love the "oooh!" that she does as Kylie, and the teeth/lip thing when one of them is getting pissed off 😂

LaughenderUkaliptussRowsMarie04042023 · 04/04/2023 15:40

It's basically a big giant bowl of air because everything has carbs and you're greedy, lost sight of a normal portion if you dare have dinner later.

Unescorted · 04/04/2023 15:40

How much chicken would you put in the Caesar massive salad? And how many days would it last.

ShirleyPhallus · 04/04/2023 15:41

Do you get your toddler to eat it on the bus with a spoon?

Mrsjayy · 04/04/2023 15:35

I don't know the difference?

Not 100% sure, but would a leafy salad be a green side salad, i.e. a bag of leaves maybe with a bit of Little Gem or similar, and a chopped salad a mix of diced cucumber, peppers, tomatoes, celery, carrot etc, probably mixed with vinaigrette or mayonnaise or similar to hold it together a bit?
