About the Mumsnet 'Massive Salad?'

I just thought over the weekend about some of the food threads on here recently and wondered if it would be a good idea to develop the idea of a 'Mumsnet Massive Salad' to be sold in major supermarkets? It would be prepackaged, have a variety of raw veg but .... and I absolutely stress this - absolutely no dressing whatsoever - far too calorific!! So a completely 'clean' salad! Also it should be in biodegradable packaging so ... no plastics ! There must be a market for it and a lot of people would want to try it out of intrigue. Would have to be 'massive' though !

I just took a look at Tesco party salad, I guess it would be alright with warm baguettes and cheeses/meats. Not a gastro delight however!

A massive salad cures all ills and staves off any negative effects of eating rubbish.
"I'll be cooking up sausage and chips with a Massive Salad on the side".
Or it atones for bad lunch boxes.
"It's none of the school's business that he has a little cake, bag of crips, pack of cheese strings and a Happy Meal in his lunchbox. In the evening we have something healthy like lasagne, with a Massive Salad on the side".
When univited guests turn up just as you are about to dish up your Sunday roast and perch hopefully round the table - no problem!

I wanted a big salad today for lunch, the sun was shining and it seemed appropriate. But tomorrow is big shop day, so will source my ingredients then.

MNers obviously have children who consider salads to be food. I don’t. DS2 is now 13 and will eat a salad if issues with one but he would not seek one out. DS3 is a toddler and will not countenance salads as anything other than unwanted decoration.

i suspect not, I suspect “the” massive salad is organic and hand picked.

It’s pretty massive though, about two dinner plates full, the weight is deceptive because there’s nothing heavy in it, it’s mostly lettuce, lol.
