How do I get fully vaccinated and is it still necessary for travel to US?

I had 1 vaccine in December 2021 and then didn’t get my second dose so technically not fully vaccinated although had Covid several times now.

I have just booked Florida and now realised I need to be fully vaccinated (I think).

question is if I get my next dose will I still be fully vaccinated even though it was over a year ago my first dose?

do doctors and nurses still give out the second dose?

I never wanted any vaccines and would delayed as long as I could. I got roped into my first dose almost two years after the pandemic started as my doctor pressured me and it felt like I would have no freedom unless I did. Costa coffee etc has said they were asking for proof. I had already had covid and survived. I wasn’t getting a vaccine which was so new unless I really really had to. And yes my freedom is my priority when my health had already survived.

getti g the vaccine doesn’t stop you catching or spreading covid so how was I not protecting my loved ones….?

3 years later and people still believe this garbage.

The only garbage I’ve read is your post. It was curbed quickly after the vaccine rollout. I think it’s hysterical that you’ll get a vaccine to go and see Micky Mouse but you couldn’t manage it to mitigate a public health crisis.

@Parker231 you are lucky. Everyone's been talking in the office how there seems to be a rota of illness going on....

Common in most offices - similar to nurseries

loulouljh · 07/04/2023 12:38

No it has not been common at all until the last 6 months or so...

I was one of the volunteer vaccinators from January 2021 onwards. Had an email this week about whether I can assist with the spring boosters. I would but we’re not living in the uk now.

Winter 22/23 had the highest flu cases for a decade and an increase in RSV cases.

loulouljh · 07/04/2023 12:48

Spring boosters...to add to the what 8 jabs already!!!!! madness.

@whoruntheworldgirls
you don’t have to get esta far in advance . You can get it on the same day as travel if you like .

The problem with this advice is that if you get declined, you have to get a Visa - which takes up to a year to get. You need to be getting the ESTA a year in advance...

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 07/04/2023 14:37

I can’t tolerate the vaccines. The last 2 have made me severely disabled.

So l guess I’ll never be able to go to US

Be grateful that you aren't in any of the groups who have had to have several vaccines, and need to have annual vaccines for other viruses.
Life's tricky enough for many people in those very vulnerable groups as it is, without random people making fun out of the fact they need more vaccines than the average person in an attempt to keep themselves out of hospital.

BritWifeInUSA · 08/04/2023 05:28

On the off-chance that you’re a US citizen, we don’t need to be vaccinated to enter the US.

I honestly can't believe there are still vaccine deniers spouting their bullshit on the internet.

I know. 🙄

Some if the posts on here take me back and not in a good way.

My personal experience (supported by the facts) is that the vaccine stopped a percentage of infections, reduced the severity of symptoms when there was infection and generally helped get us out of restrictions and back to normality.

Certainly my experience of having covid pre and post vaccination was very different. Pre = awful. Post = almost unnoticeable.

knittingaddict · 08/04/2023 06:00

It certainly saved lives. People who refuse to accept that sound a bit dim now.

loulouljh · 08/04/2023 11:45

LOL! The people who still think the vaccine was safe and effective look incredibly stupid now!!!! Just read about what is going on......educate yourselves.

loulouljh · 08/04/2023 11:46

Making fun? Er no. Just incredulous that people allow themselves to be used as pin cushions in this manner...

loulouljh · 08/04/2023 11:49

Oh and my experience of covid....both pre-vaccine (as I will never have that rubbish) is a mild cold. A mild cold. DH unvaccinated has never had it. Two kids unvaccinated. One was mildly ill for one morning. The other did feel rough for a few days.

I thank my lucky stars reading daily about the sudden deaths, the excess deaths, the miscarriages, the declining fertility, the injuries, that I saw good sense as did my family and stayed away from it.

Cookerhood · 08/04/2023 11:52

Has anyone looked at the graphs of hospitalizations & severe illness/death once vaccination was introduced? They paint a very obvious picture in favour of the vaccines.

MargaretThursday · 08/04/2023 12:01

There's a lot of good expressions on another thread currently rolling that apply to some of the posters here.
Let's see... something to do with... mince...

No I don't feel stupid. Why would I? You, on the other hand...

Was it a mild cold for everyone? Or did thousands of people become gravely ill?

Busybody2022 · 08/04/2023 13:01

Lots of dodgy advice here on ESTAs. Yes, most people have no issues and approvals are usually quick. All it takes is clicking the wrong box or having a name that tallies on their database and you are stuffed. Do your ESTA with enough time to do the visa route should the worst happen. Ie at least 9 months in advance.

I don't understand why you are happy to have the jabs now to go to Florida but weren't fussed about having them to protect yourself and your loved ones at the height of the pandemic but i suppose there are priorities.

THIS ^

Oh look, it's the consequences of our actions.

Won't have a jab to protect others, but FLORIDA HOLIDAY! BRING THAT NEEDLE ERE!

I wonder what you're reading daily. 😁😂

No need to answer - we can all guess. You can find anything you want online.

What are you reading - could you forward the information - there will be medical records regarding the causes of death?

They manage to read anti vaxxer propaganda but not that as of March 28, 2023, the outbreak of Covid had spread to almost every country in the world, and more than 6.8 million people had died after contracting the respiratory virus.
