The daily fail have really gone after Thomas Cashman's partner in the paper today, painting her as a gangsters moll.

Do you think she really knew what he was up to? What's the feeling in Liverpool towards her?

AIBU to feel sorry for his kids and wonder what kind of life they will have now? his son and daughter are also victims in this horrible tragedy now. It's so sad.

42 years less 180 days already served, before parole can be even looked at, hell be 76 by then and even if allowed to leave prison mum live the rest of his life on licence. Thats if he lives that long

Florenz · 03/04/2023 19:21

We are far too soft on criminals in this country.

whumpthereitis · 03/04/2023 19:38

He may be targeted in prison, but he may also be protected. It depends who he’s in with, and how valuable he’s considered to be. Gang members can, and do, still operate as part of their gang from within prison. He’s a child killer, but won’t be considered on par with the child predators.

She’ll shed outside signs of wealth and play broke until the proverbial heat is off, but you can guarantee there’s money hidden in a number of places. She may also benefit if she’s got people ‘looking after her’ on his behalf (possibly also to ensure his own continued affiliation). She’ll be loyal as long as it provides her money and protection, but if she loses that she’ll find another man just like him. That, or she’ll move onto someone who can offer her more. She’s all over the papers visibly single (essentially). Imo advertising her availability was one of the reasons for her outfit choices and appearance.

Obviously this is all conjecture, but in my experience (grew up in a country dominated by organized crime) that’s normally how it goes.

Cirque1 · 03/04/2023 19:49

He's not going to be targeted in prison. If he's at any danger in prison, they will put him on a vulnerable prisoners wing. Or even in isolation, if need be.

Parsley1234 · 03/04/2023 19:54

So so sad the victim statement her mum having to leave their home neighbours WTF everything they knew I suppose in fear of their lives as well what a mess they won’t be under witness protection will they ?

PogoThePunk · 03/04/2023 19:58

Panorama is doing a programme starting at 20.00 tonight if anyone is interested.

Parsley1234 · 03/04/2023 20:03

Did his girlfriend turn up today ? Obviously not as she must of known he was t going to turn up in court total coward

Florenz · 03/04/2023 20:17

The Merseyside need to go after the local gangs before more innocent people, possibly children, are slaughtered.

42 years doesn't sound particularly soft to me. Personally I'd like to see 30 years as the minimum sentence for murder in all cases.

Florenz · 03/04/2023 22:08

He'd been shooting people for years, it took a child's death for the police to actually take action.

Justcallmebebes · 03/04/2023 23:39

JackiePlace · 01/04/2023 13:53

So according to The Fail, this woman's crimes are wearing pink, having botox, trying to start a business and being loyal to her loser husband.
Please, can we all try to rise above and resist being manipulated by trash reporting like this. The only thing we should feel for her is pity.

You are either very, very naive or very stupid

OldFan · 04/04/2023 00:39

I don't know about arselicking major criminals but the police are pretty dreadfully crap usually, to be fair. So many times they won't do anything, or even side with a harrasser, or lose the record of a death threat being reported, or traumatize rape victims, don't even interview rapists etc etc. These are just some of my own experiences.

I'm glad if as a rare occassion they finally did their job with this bloke, after a long time.

catskittens · 04/04/2023 01:24

i hope there is no bounty on his head
let him live is miserable life in prison for 42yrs looking over his shoulder and being kept from his family for ever

42yrs is a long time and i cant help feeling that with the sentence he may take the easy option he needs to be monitored 24/7

DdraigGoch · 04/04/2023 15:46

Do you think Cashman is in greater danger now he's been locked up? there must be some very dangerous well connected people worried about what he might say.

Hopefully. I hope the he lives to a ripe old age. I hope that he spends every minute of it looking over his shoulder.

newnamethanks · 04/04/2023 15:51

Of course she knew, his reputation preceded him and she would have relished the status of being on his arm. Seems half of Liverpool knew who and what he is.

LlynTegid · 04/04/2023 16:06

Sorry for his children definitely, no one chooses their parents. Even if they have no part in the child's life.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 04/04/2023 16:09

I think his oldest child is around 14. It would be interesting to see the type of career choices he makes...

nub · 04/04/2023 17:31

What happens to KS now he's banged up for 42 years? Will she be protected because of "loyalty" and continue to have crim WAG status? Will Cashman's colleagues close ranks to protect her or will she be in fear of them (and the whole of Merseyside) as he's not around? Or will she lose all status? Will she be be warned to STFU and not grass? She must know a lot. How will it play out doing the school run? Can she walk across the playground without death by 1000 Mum stares? Can she do normal things like shopping? Will she wear the pink coat again? 🤣

Wintersgirl · 04/04/2023 18:44

I bet she won't lord it up in the playground now...

@ThePoshUns of course they do! You only have to watch police documentaries on TV to see how the worse the criminal the more the police arse lick them

I don't know about that but Cashman might tell about other drug dealers and thugs. He might be useful.

It might have been due to a last minute change of schedule?
I watched it when it was shown last night, but it's available on iPlayer now.

There is an excellent series regarding drug gangs on iPlayer called ' Hometown '
I don't know if anyone remembers the drug dealer who was shot dead on the M62 by armed police out Huddersfield way, but it's about him and the gang he was in, not dissimilar to the Liverpool gangs.
It's absolutely jaw dropping listening to the shot gang members father.

Totally wrong @Whichnumbers That’s been tried and doesn’t work. Take out the top men not the users.

Where cocaine is concerned then targeting the users would definitely be effective. We're not talking about junkies injecting heroin under the flyover, we're talking about supposedly "respectable" people who are using drugs recreationally. If their employment was threatened they'd stop.

I have worked in multiple jobs where random testing is used, with the threat of instant dismissal if your urine tests positive for drugs. Even a job waiting on tables in a restaurant had random screening. More employers should do the same, particularly "professional" ones.

user146539089 · 05/04/2023 09:38

@DdraigGoch The scale of use is just too huge for that to be properly effective. There aren’t enough officers to process the arrests. I agree however it should be made socially unacceptable and people should be reminded how their habits are fuelling the murders and exploitation of young children.
