Thomas Cashman's Family

The daily fail have really gone after Thomas Cashman's partner in the paper today, painting her as a gangsters moll.

Do you think she really knew what he was up to? What's the feeling in Liverpool towards her?

AIBU to feel sorry for his kids and wonder what kind of life they will have now? his son and daughter are also victims in this horrible tragedy now. It's so sad.

@JackiePlace there has been plenty of exploration on this thread - by people with real knowledge and understanding of the culture around this - way beyond that. It's lovely you think everyone acts with a pure heart but it's not true.

No, it’s not “lovely” at all. In the context of this thread it’s beyond offensive.

Many years ago, we lived next door to a drug dealer in a quiet picturesque village, it was a nightmare, the council/police... no one would lift a finger, even the Police said they were scared of him (they'd had officers targeted for abuse and threats from theses scum) or more particularly, his associates and this guy was a positive angel compared to Cashman.

A local so called hardman, got someone to try and frighten him into leaving, his response was to move in "protection" and then went round to the mans house with petrol saying he would burn his house down if he did anything like that again.

However the good news.. if you can put it like that.. was he was eventually convicted of child abuse.. supply drugs to kids for sex and the "protection have all ended up dead or in prison for murder.

For us, we lost around £40k on house worth around 80k (at the time) we had to move and pretty much gave it away.

The law is always on the side of criminals and policing in the UK is nothing like "Happy Valley" with a justice system that gives out extremely lenient sentences for crimes against the person and for drug offences.

@JackiePlace It's an interesting exercise to try and follow a particular specific moral code. For instance to follow Christianity for real according to the book's rules, ten commandments and new testament extras.

It becomes soo clear how much you lie, how much you're selfish etc etc.

I've heard it referred to as "self-favouring principles".
Cashman might have thought he was putting his own family first, or who knows. I read this morning that there is a hit out on him now.

Beantag · 03/04/2023 09:04

I could potentially subscribe to someone selling a bit of weed to supplement their income and ergo support their family by bringing in some extra cash as semi reasonable (not that I agree it's right); but someone greedily chasing an obscene amount of money selling drugs (and no doubt having a supply chain of misery beneath them with little regard for their lives) and allegedly taking hits on people for money isn't that. Its greed, its arrogance, its having no morals or consideration for others.

This is who this man is:

www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11926737/amp/Olivia-Pratt-Korbels-murderer-demanded-half-100K-hitman-fee-despite-failing-kill-target.html

The fact you're attempting to justify why he might have entered this world and his actions is just baffling. He killed an innocent child in her own home and then (allegedly) demanded half of the £200k he had accepted for this hit. That's not putting his family first, that's not simply wanting to support them. I agree there are factors that lead children and young people into selling drugs but this goes way beyond that.

Over40Overdating · 03/04/2023 09:30

@JackiePlace your repeated attempts at finding some salvation or excuse for a paid for hire, remorseless murderer is getting disingenuous now.

If he was ever going to tell himself he was doing something for ‘the good’ of his family or it was somehow his only way, I imagine the light bulb that told him otherwise might have gone off after the first time he’d killed someone and realised he felt no remorse.
Or after his first million built on the back of suffering.

If you’re going to try to claim he was a family man who got his morals a little confused after he deliberately followed someone into a strangers house with a gun and repeatedly fired it in front of a woman and child, killed a little girl, put plans in place to ditch his clothes and evidence and then demanded half his fee anyway - you are no better than his family to me.

I’m glad to hear a hit has been taken out on him and I hope it’s enacted as soon as possible. People like him never change.

VeryApple · 03/04/2023 09:34

@bluewanda okay, that's a fair point.

Neededanewuserhandle · 03/04/2023 09:55

Where are all the posters who pop up moaning about "people who grass" on this thread?
This is where that leads - the death of innocent children, followed by silence from people with information and support for the scum who did it.

Whichnumbers · 03/04/2023 10:00

user146539089. I agree, which is why I believe people at the bottom should be tackled. Along with people thinking that smoking a bit of dope or doing a line of coke isn’t really a problem - it’s a problem as the end result is people get killed

Parsley1234 · 03/04/2023 12:06

Where is Nee now is he in witness protection too ?

He's in prison but due to be released soon.

OldFan · 03/04/2023 13:09

@JackiePlace I was thinking about this last night as I knew you would say he was just thinking of his family having millions etc (which doesn't make what he did ok anyway.)

-To completely refute your argument that everyone thinks they're doing the right thing at all times, how about men who lie in wait in a park or something to rape passing strangers?

Neededanewuserhandle · 03/04/2023 13:28

JackiePlace · 01/04/2023 15:06

I will endeavour to stop being so naive. I believe in trying to see the best in people.

So do I - why do you you think she wore that pink coat?

Sarahconnor1 · 03/04/2023 14:02

The judge has just granted that sentencing remarks can be filmed and broadcast

To get the attention everyone on this thread is giving her! She’s obviously not that daft.

torquewench · 03/04/2023 14:52

The shithouse is refusing to come into the dock. Coward.

Sarahconnor1 · 03/04/2023 14:58

Cashman has 18 previous convictions for 33 offences between 2005 and 2016.

just in case anyone is still doubting whether cashmans girlfriend and family knew what he was

Over40Overdating · 03/04/2023 15:09

@Sarahconnor1 or whether he’s just a poor, misguided man who was trying to earn a living for his family the only way he could.

He’s scum & a coward & so are those claiming his innocence.

Stressedafff · 03/04/2023 15:22

Her parents statements broke my heart. The thought of her dad feeling so low that hes considered ending his life just to see his baby again.

His family knew exactly what he was. Any self respecting woman or man would question and condemn sudden large amounts of money and expensive items. The nerve of his partner too posing in her pink coat. They’re all disgusting

SpreadableCheeseOnEverything · 03/04/2023 15:22

I think the police seem to see most criminals as 'loveable rogues'

OldFan · 03/04/2023 15:25

So do I - why do you you think she wore that pink coat?

@Neededanewuserhandle I know people think it was directed at the family, but she could've been not clever enough to think of that. I imagine her usual style is quite feminine so it could just've been what she happened to choose to wear.

Good grief.

VeryApple · 03/04/2023 15:33

Just reading the Guardian's live feed on the sentencing and Olivia's mum's impact statement is harrowing: "he continued to shoot as Olivia’s cries were heard."

How can you see good in this @JackiePlace ?

Emigratingimmigrant · 03/04/2023 15:43

Neededanewuserhandle · 03/04/2023 15:33

Good grief.

😂 i know. Imagine genuinely believing no one pointed out she is wearing colour picked for funeral of the girl he boyfriend, who she stands by, killed.

This is not even an adorable naivety, people.

PomRuns · 03/04/2023 15:45

Reading Olivia’s mums statement was heart breaking. He deserves everything he gets.
I can’t understand the posters defending him and his family- they are grotesque.
