And here's how that is working out for women in Limerick Prison.

'Last year on Paddy’s Podcast , O’Gorman interviewed Leanne Casey, a former prisoner in Limerick women’s prison. Her testimony is shocking. She recounts sharing a cellblock landing with male transwomen prisoners. At times, Ms Casey says, the women inmates ‘had to be locked back into [their] cell’, because the transgender inmates were ‘screaming’ abuse at the women prisoners. Even worse, the guards tended to take the side of the transgender prisoners in any disputes: ‘What they said went, and if any of the [female] prisoners disrespected them, we’d get punished.’

This man tore the eye lids off his social worker, what about the safety of the prison guards? Do they not matter?

He has been identified as a serious risk to women by nearly every professional who has been involved in his case and yet the politicians are still trying to fool you with it never happens. It does.

Women in Californian prisons are routinely being raped and getting pregnant by trans inmates but it's not reported in the MSM and people treat the absence of reporting as evidence that there is no problem with self ID.

This is how gullible and woman hating our politicians are: when Ian Huntley had a brief spell of claiming to be a woman this libdem thought they should be housed in a women's prison.

Because BK's feelings are more important than women's safety.

This is awful. Similar situation in Scotland, enabled by Nicola sturgeon and the Scottish government. I cannot understand why anyone identifying as trans is deemed more important than biological females - trans rights seem to trump everything. That prisoner should be moved to a prison for biological males.

Do NOT use Enoch Burke as some kind of supporter of GC thinking.

His approach to transgender issues is informed by his & his family's extreme right-wing conservative and fundamentalist religious beliefs. He and his siblings have behaved abhorrently on many issues, including nearly destroying several societies & initiates in University of Galway.

For sure, he took a particular stance on transgender issues but for all the wrong reasons and his behaviour was awful. And he provided another stick for people attacking those with GC beliefs to use against us.

This is how things are working out in the US.

@Fairyliz there are about 30 trans identifying males in U.K. prisons. I’m not sure how many other than this man in Irish ones. It’s been happening for years - follow Keep Prisons Single Sex, Woman’s Place U.K. and Fair Play 4 Women on Twitter to find out more. We’ve been raging against this for years, only for the left to denounce us as bigots.

@EarringsandLipstick to be fair RTÉ have not reported & still haven't reported. Yesterday they had an article about how hate crimes were up 29 % on minority groups. Again trying to play on public sympathy. Propoganfa.

RTÉ have no problem bashing Enoch Burke or the Catholic Church. But Barbie Kardashian is off limits.

You'd have to be nuts to believe that any of the Burke's take the actions they do for genuine, principled reasons.

Enoch Burke was not suspended and ultimately dismissed due to his beliefs on transgender issues. He harassed and intimidated his principal at a school event, blocked her when she tried to move away and interrupted on multiple times the normal school processes.

The other incidents with the Burke's are chaotic disruptive and damaging - I know personally one company affected by the actions of Ammi, and the individuals she targeted were deeply affected by what she did.

I'm as GC as they come but don't use Enoch as a poster boy.

The case was reported in every newspaper I came across & also online.

What is true is that early reports made no reference to 'Barbie' being male and therefore made almost no sense. The IT was particularly guilty of this - but they are shocking on trans issues, however Michael McDowell has written several thoughtful opinion pieces addressing pronoun use etc

But he seems to be the only one speaking out here. The GAA policy on allowing trans men play on women's teams.
