Unbelievably heavy period for me.
Day 3 of it literally falling out of me. I am bleeding through lil lets ultra in about a hour, sometimes 2.
Small clots too, size of a 5p.
Last night the cramps started and I am in a bit of pain from them which is not normal for me at all.
Eventually I fell into such a deep sleep I didn't hear any alarms going off this morning, or the children waking up.
Usually I have heavy periods but this is just crazy. I stood up off the toilet last night to try and have a look and it was running out of me.
Sorry TMI but I'm worried and feel horrible.

Did you have any other symptoms with it?

If it's stopped, then you stop taking the TA.

So take it at full dose on day one, and taper it down if the bleeding isn't heavy. For me, it was like turning off a tap. I only needed to use it for a day or so.

If it restarts, then take more. If it stays stopped, than don't.

Honestly it's appalling how little support we receive.

I recently phoned 111 and was advised to go to A+E.
I woke up and had bleed really badly through the night. Soaked through my pj's. I felt really light headed.
Had blood taken and was told my iron and haemoglobin levels were OK which I was surprised about.
Was given tranexamic acid and it was like turning off a tap. It worked really quickly aswell and I have now been given a supply if it happens again.

I still don't know what caused it . I have had very heavy periods and think I may have pcos but this was worse than ever before.

I still don't know what caused it . I have had very heavy periods

In my teens and 20s I had very heavy periods lasting 6-7 days or even longer - and no GP would do anything more than put me on the pill even when that wasn't agreeing with me.

I was lucky pregnancy seem to reset my system and it's only in my mid 40s I see anything like it and its not as long now. I found out later my mother suffered horribly with fibroids which triples my risk - so it was probably that but I'd have like to know that at the time.

I hope the scan next week gives you some much needed answers OnNaturesCourse.

I haven't taken any today, and I'm not even filling a light tampon in 6 hours.

I feel great now tho so that's a bonus.
