Yes.
There's been such ignorance on this thread, some of it shown by someone claiming to be knowledgeable.
I'm not an HCP. I'm only speaking from my experience.
Just because this might be fibroids or endometriosis or the start of perimenopause doesn't mean you don't need urgent medical attention for severe blood loss.
I'm so pleased yours has stopped now.
Uncontrollable bleeding needs treatment, especially alongside your other symptoms.
You've responded well to the tranexamic acid, so that may well be all you need. Take it as your period starts and it will reduce the bleeding.
I had a coil, which actually made things worse (I know it helps for some). When it was removed blood and clots were falling from me like this, but tranexamic acid did stop it when I remembered to take it!
I was used to my periods gradually getting heavier, and eventually being uncontrollable. I found ways to manage, but if I hadn't, if I'd been lightheaded, woozy, palpitations etc then I would have needed medical attention.
You can have impossibly hard periods and not need to go to A&E, I agree, but you can also NEED to go, for impossibly hard periods. Blood loss is blood loss. You can't afford to lose too much, even if you are a woman on a period!
