To applaud Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Ian Wright, and think Suella Braverman is looking like a fool for not even understanding the comment

Nimbostratus100 · 10/03/2023 19:44

Lineker called the immigration policy cruel, and compared the language and attitude of the government to 1930s Germany.

I hundred percent agree with him

Braverman started denying that anything that is happening in UK is comparable to the holocaust

She is spectacularly missing the point. The holocaust didn't happen in the 1930s

What happened in the 1930s was the slow and steady build up of racism and aggression and hate, that resulted in the holocaust in the 1940s

And the noises coming out of the government are very much like 1930s nazis

For those of you that don't have any interest in Match of the Day, Gary Lineker, the main presenter, has been suspended, in spite of being a sports commentator, and NOT a news reader or involved in current affairs programming, and NOT bound by the impartiality clause, and his two top fellow presenters have refused to appear without him

So either the BBC bosses (tory appointees) have scored a spectacular own goal,(unintended pun) in trying to supress Lineker's opinions, and turning them into world wide headlines,

OR!

Maybe they are secretly working against the government by choosing a course of action that will actually make the tories look like complete fools, while pretending to support them!

Also, bringing in more men will make dating harder for men because of more competition and less access to women. we all know what happens to some men when there is no access to women, they become incels and start getting sexually frustrated

And here we have the knuckle dragger's real concern.

'access to women' <vomits forever>

p.s you're clearly already an incel.

Women would be more likely to want to shag you if you weren't a misogynist piece of shit and rape apologist.

HTH.

Go back to your MRA subreddit and moan to your mates about how women deserve to get raped.

What a loser.

I mean PP has put it brutally and not how I would but does anyone here truly believe we have the infrastructure and public services to support an extra ~30,000 people per year on top of current projected growth?

Anyone?

Completely agree. He's a piece of shit.

And I hope MN don't delete that as a personal attack.

It's warranted.

To delete it would be 'not in the spirit' if MN really want to support women and fight violence against them.

@Florenz @User8646382
Yes, they’re free, and they’re also often inadequate (have you been inside one?) They’re also unstable accommodation. People get moved at short notice (including same day notice) to anywhere else in the country, losing any support network they may have had, children being pulled out of school and disrupted again. I know this doesn’t fit your “military aged man revelling in free houses” narrative but this is the reality of what’s happening. Plenty of articles etc highlighting the problems linked below.

And if you think that the conditions listed in those articles are acceptable for any human, and if you think, as @User8646382 suggests that they shouldn’t have access to legal advice (as that’s often what “support from charities” signposts people to) that’s an abysmal way to think about other humans. You can have valid complaints about the asylum system without wishing ever worse conditions on asylum seekers. Punch up, at the government causing these problems, not down at the people who have no control over where they live, and what they do or don’t receive.

Yes, this is gross. All those far right men (and by this I mean members of far right identifying groups, not “men who disagree with me”) who pretend to be “protecting women and children” never cared when it was British men raping us. They only care now they think someone else has access to their “property”. It’s very transparent and completely sickening.

Florenz · 11/03/2023 00:56

LakieLady · 11/03/2023 00:45

This is all egregious nonsense, as always. Firstly, we’re not “free to turn them back” for a couple of legal reasons. Non-refoulment being one, lack of agreement with EU countries being another.

If we were in the EU, we could have taken advantage of the "first safe country" provision in the Dublin agreement, but the people who voted for Brexit put paid to that.

I wonder what the Venn diagram of Brexit voters and those who think we should ship asylum seekers somewhere else would look like? I bet there's a significant overlap.

"I wonder what the Venn diagram of Brexit voters and those who think we should ship asylum seekers somewhere else would look like? I bet there's a significant overlap."
Of course there is. I guarantee that if the refugee issue was put to a referendum then people would vote for less, not more. And the same people would cry and moan and call the people who voted for less "Nazis", "stupid", "Gammon" "Northern" and the like. And so on and so on. People are losing patience.

It was the Tories who introduced Self ID under Theresa May, wrote genderwoo into government policies since 2017, put male rapists in women's prisons and onto women's wards and created the first Trans MP.

They abandoned the sane centre ground many years ago. That's why the country is in the state it is now.

In 1930s Germany:
the nuremberg laws were passed which banned marriage between jews and non jews

kristallnacht - the destruction of Jewish homes and stores - was supported by the government

Jews were entered into forced manual labour

I wonder if the people referring to 1930s Germany don’t know what it was like.

Exactly.

November 1938.

Kristallnacht (or the Night of Broken Glass, also called the November pogrom(s) was a pogrom against Jews carried out by the Nazi Party's Sturmabteilung (SA) paramilitary and Schutzstaffel (SS) paramilitary forces along with some participation from the Hitler Youth and German civilians throughout Nazi Germany on 9–10 November 1938.

Kristallnacht changed the nature of Nazi Germany's persecution of the Jews from economic, political, and social exclusion to physical violence, including beatings, incarceration, and murder; the event is often referred to as the beginning of the Holocaust. In this view, it is not only described as a pogrom, it is also described as a critical stage within a process in which each step becomes the seed of the next step.

Do we not?

No cull. Just incentivise and normalise having no children or one child. Make that the norm. If you want multiple children, be prepared to pay the costs involved instead of expecting other people to pay.
