Would you feel uncomfortable if your cleaner wore these?

My cleaner often wears quite revealing leggings, I wouldn't care except my husband often works from home and she also cleans his office which requires bending etc. She's also very attractive. It makes me feel uncomfortable and inferior but I don't feel like I can say anything to her. I personally don't feel this is professional for anyone to be wearing to work, except perhaps if you work in a gym or similar. What do others think? Would you be ok with it?

It wouldn't bother me and my husband is a bottom / leg bloke.
To be fair, a cleaner would be more interested in Mr Sheene than Mr Junking.

Where was your husband while you were judging potential cleaners? What if there were attractive women there?

Out of the house I don’t care who he looks at ! I just didn’t want anyone in my home.

BreviloquentBastard · 10/03/2023 08:53

Wow there is some raging insecurity, jealousy and mistrust in this thread, good grief.

Our cleaner is an extremely pretty girl in her mid twenties who wears very similar leggings, because they're trendy and comfy. She's also an excellent cleaner, so if she wants to show off her nice bum while she makes my house sparkling, I'm not bothered.

I always interviewed my cleaners on days dh wasn’t here . If they were too attractive I said I didn’t feel they were right for the job and asked the agency to send me someone more experienced/ older . We’ve had a couple of cleaners now . Handpicked by me. Dh doesn’t even notice them I don’t think so there’s never an issue 😂

Or maybe ditch the DH if he is such an untrustworthy lech you can’t trust him around the help?

Strange she didn't mind you taking that photo. I'd be more concerned by the lack of a top!

🤦🏼‍♀️

Fascinating. Which other clothes are 'slutty' and what should the consequences of wearing them be for those women who do?

Very amusing.

Those things are just awful, it's nothing to do with what you're alluding to.

I personally feel its inappropriate. There are many other comfortable clothes she could wear.

For those who are asking if the OP doesn't trust her husband, it's a bit like putting a piece of chocolate cake in front of someone and asking them not to eat it. Why not dress decently in first place, if you have some self respect!!

Wow, read that back and seriously look at why you have written this.
Plenty people can leave the chocolate cake alone when it's in front of the btw. Self control ......

I would hate to be in a relationship where I could not trust my partner and had to resort to this level - it must be awful.

Seriously?
If you have to go to these lengths you have major issues with either yourself or your marriage.
Imagine if you needed a tradesmen and your husband said no not him he's far too good looking!

How else could “slutty” be interpreted?

DisplayPurposesOnly · 10/03/2023 09:20

So what does the cleaner wear????? Gym clothes are comfy and practical.

They are but there are versions that don't reveal quite so much. I don't think these ones are appropriate for work. Save them for your social life.

How sad to not be able to trust your husband. If he wants to cheat, he'll cheat somewhere sometime, whatever you do.

Effiebreast · 10/03/2023 09:30

You've had a really hard time on here @Phoebo The usual MN pile on.
You appreciate you are being insecure and have just asked for ways to deal with it.
Fwiw it doesn't matter whether everyone under the age of 25 wears them. They are still ugly and the wearer is definitely saying 'look at my arse' but obviously don't touch. Agree that some fashions are becoming ever more revealing, who knows
why ? God forbid not to attract the male gaze, oh no....
Thing is you get thread after thread discussing how young women all look the same, done up to resemble blow up dolls, fashion pornified and thread after thread talking about internalised misogyny. You can't win OP but as you have found out, on MN there are many different opinions...

MissMaple82 · 10/03/2023 09:31

Get a grip! You absolutely cannot tell someone what to wear because you've got insecurity issues!!!!! Do something to like yourself more instead of oppressing others

I agree with you OP. I really don't think it's necessary to have the seam riding up the bum like that. Tbh that's the first time I've seen these type of leggings.

Thars because you're probably about 65!

Don't assume everyone 'about 65' is in twinset and pearls. I am 66 see these leggings all over and just wish I had the figure to carry them off.

MissMaple82 · 10/03/2023 09:36

I feel really sorry for the cleaner having her choice of clothing discussed by you on Mumsnet!

Phoebo · 10/03/2023 07:26

Interested to know there is a line for some, seems like by most of these comments they wouldn't care if she was naked 😉

Hmm yeah, leggings that accentuate your bum or butt naked 🤔 yeah same level that 🙄

KimberleyClark · 10/03/2023 09:43

I can’t think of any work context outside a gym where those would be considered suitable work wear. Why can’t she wear something that covers her bum? If camel toe is unacceptable, why are sharply outlined bum cheeks?

GoodChat · 10/03/2023 09:43

@MissMaple82 and judging by your comments you're about 12

MissMaple82 · 10/03/2023 09:50

Blossomtoes · 10/03/2023 09:36

Nice bit of ageism there.

Maybe so, but the majority of 65 year old do not know about the younger generations fashion. Fashion will always cause controversy but nobody should dictate what an individual chooses to wear, more so when it boils down to jealousy, pure and simple. This post is incredibly sexist, but hey ho

GoodChat · 10/03/2023 09:51

@MissMaple82 I'm 27 and I don't understand why these are 'fashionable'.
Most 'fashion' makes people look like they fell into a charity shop bin and just rolled with it.

DoNotGetADog · 10/03/2023 09:53

I think that you’ve made everyone say YABU by focusing on a) the attractiveness of the cleaner and b) your husband’s potential reaction.

I don’t think these leggings are appropriate for any work situation at all. If I had literally any type of business at all and an employee wore those to work I would tell them not to.

It’s a very awkward thing though to ask one person coming to your home to not wear something though.

I think YANBU about the leggings - they’re gross - but you can be offended by them yourself without bringing your husband or her attractiveness into it.
