Would you feel uncomfortable if your cleaner wore these?

My cleaner often wears quite revealing leggings, I wouldn't care except my husband often works from home and she also cleans his office which requires bending etc. She's also very attractive. It makes me feel uncomfortable and inferior but I don't feel like I can say anything to her. I personally don't feel this is professional for anyone to be wearing to work, except perhaps if you work in a gym or similar. What do others think? Would you be ok with it?

Your cleaner can wear what she likes to work. The responsibility is on your husband not to perv on her.
And you're not doing anything to help our cause by perpetuating the insinuation that it's a women's responsibility to not entice a man by choosing "appropriate" clothing.

Exactly. Your husband could get out of her way and let her do her job, like any considerate person would do.

Totalwasteofpaper · 10/03/2023 07:13

My cleaner wears similar. It never occurred to me to care... they are comfortable for cleaning and not indecent in any way.

Its 100% a you problem.

The scrunch bum ones, or ordinary leggings?

The scrunch bum ones that OP linked are grim. And not worn as'comfortable for work'!

Montymorency · 10/03/2023 08:17

perhaps she should be worried about you taking pictures of her bum....

saraclara · 10/03/2023 08:17

Hankunamatata · 10/03/2023 08:05

So your cleaner wears leggings to clean. Yabu
They are not revealing leggings they are just leggings

They're not ordinary leggings. They have a seam to emphasise the bum crack.

FiveShelties · 10/03/2023 08:18

I so wish my arse looked like that. My husband probably thinks that too.

If someone was cleaning for me and doing a good job I could not care less what they wear.

Trixiefirecracker · 10/03/2023 08:11

Shaggy your cleaner made me laugh. A lot.

Haha total typo but I like it now too.

The religious extremists of the Middle East called, they want their attitudes back

Those attitudes are present right here in this country…

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 10/03/2023 08:19

In the height of summer might your dh wear shorts at his desk? Would you tell him to change into trousers before the cleaner came lest he entice her?

GoodChat · 10/03/2023 08:19

Pinkhorse1 · 10/03/2023 07:46

Sorry, but it says alot about her!

Yeah, that she likes to feel comfortable and feel like she still looks good at the same time.

MichelleScarn · 10/03/2023 08:19

Trixiefirecracker · 10/03/2023 07:57

I’m just here because I’m fascinated that women like @Pinkhorse1 still exist.

Fascinated and horrified!! Please make these views known in your circles @Pinkhorse1 I'd really like to know to avoid anyone with this thought process!!

EatYourVegetables · 10/03/2023 08:20

I came here to say you’re being ridiculous, but these trousers are hideous. I would not wear them outside the bedroom, and cannot understand the fascination with exposing one’s bum like this. So you get a reluctant YANBU from me…

Emmamoo89 · 10/03/2023 08:20

So ridiculous 🙄

Jesus Christ, I thought I was a prude but who wears leggings in the bedroom?! Grin

Pinkhorse1 · 10/03/2023 07:44

I personally feel its inappropriate. There are many other comfortable clothes she could wear.

For those who are asking if the OP doesn't trust her husband, it's a bit like putting a piece of chocolate cake in front of someone and asking them not to eat it. Why not dress decently in first place, if you have some self respect!!

Jesus Christ did we time warp to the 50's? This is the same mentality that blames women for being raped because of what they were wearing.

Also, just about everyone under the age of 25 is wearing these. It's a huge trend. I think some MNers live under a rock to not notice stuff like this. Presumably the ones who stay inside and never answer the door to anyone Grin

It is NOT women's responsibility to change what they do, or wear, to pacify male behaviour or other women's internalised misogynistic insecurities.

W0tnow · 10/03/2023 08:22

I don’t think they’re appropriate or attractive either. I wouldn’t say anything though.

And in a rebuttal to the what about inappropriate clothing and men argument. I think we have been somewhat desensitised to this kind of female clothing to the point that women are pushed to reveal more and more. This would be different if the same standards were applied to men. But let’s not pretend that they are. Men’s bodies can be just as nice to look at. They’re just not as objectified. So they’re not getting around in hungry bum shorts or package hugging sportswear.

WedonttalkaboutMaureen · 10/03/2023 08:24

Pinkhorse1 · 10/03/2023 07:46

Sorry, but it says alot about her!

All it says is she is a young woman following the current fashion.

And it's not like chocolate cake. Women are not objects. It's like - if OPs husband is inappropriate towards the cleaner, she has a DH problem not a cleaner problem.

Pasithean · 10/03/2023 08:25

Streamside · 10/03/2023 06:53

A Freudian slip by my autocorrect, your DH not your dog.

Depends he may behave like one when she’s in cleaning. 😁

DisplayPurposesOnly · 10/03/2023 08:28

I'm with the OP - not appropriate workwear. (And hideous any time, really, but what you wear in your own time is up to you.)

Janiebirdy · 10/03/2023 08:28

Maybe you and your dh could vacate the rooms she’s cleaning? There’s nothing worse than being gawped at whilst you’re working. The leggings aren’t my cuppa tea but she probably needs to wear clothing that can stretch and support. Ultimately if you’re uncomfortable maybe it’s best to find someone else?

EatYourVegetables · 10/03/2023 08:28

@GoodChat Fair enough 😂

I should have said I wouldn’t wear stuff that sticks into my bum crack for comfort. 😛

DisplayPurposesOnly · 10/03/2023 08:29

Well said, especially the desensitisation.

MicroSoftTeamz · 10/03/2023 08:32

This is your problem not your cleaners.

GooseberryCinnamonYogurt · 10/03/2023 08:32

Leggings are the ugliest fashion ever, worn by lazy people who go out without looking in the mirror!

Given that men flash their actual bare cocks at women and children in the street and via messages and barely get a slap on the wrist I'd say women wearing skin tight clothing is an absolute non event
