Yes I can taste the difference. No it’s not the same great taste.

Put out a lower sugar or salt free version if you want but leave my shit alone!!

Omg @JennyDarlingRIP cross post!

MavisMcMinty · 24/02/2023 18:51

I bought Sunpat peanut butter a while ago from the local Londis and it was disgusting, soooooo sweet, absolutely inedible. Yeuch, I’m shuddering at the memory of it.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 24/02/2023 18:53

Pringles. I don't know what they've done but they're weirdly hard and seem to have less flavour now too. The texture is just... off.

Agree with all the posters re: sugar in drinks. I hate the aftertaste you get with sweetners, give me proper sugar and charge me more of needs be. I don't have high sugar drinks anyhow so if I'm having a treat I expect it to taste like one, not like bubbly disappointment.

I just want them to leave cheese alone. I cannot find any kind of cheddar now that melts or incorporates into a cheese sauce.
It just goes hard when trying to melt it for cheese on toast for example or goes grainy in sauce.
It's like they've removed virtually all the fat.

Collier's Welsh cheddar, the only cheese I will still buy. It's what I think of when I want a piece of cheese, everything else just tastes of plastic.

MistyMooninabluesky · 24/02/2023 19:04

McVitie’s Digestive biscuits are utterly revolting now; greasy aftertaste, no flavour and nothing like the originals.

MeinKraft · 24/02/2023 19:12

Everything is shite now. Lucozade just tastes like sweeteners. It'll be a sad sad day when they eventually fuck up original coke with a 'great new taste'

Pilgrims choice extra mature still melts and goes brown under the grill.

APurpleSquirrel · 24/02/2023 19:19

Lots of chewy sweets which have been made vegan are just awful now - Percy Pigs, Fruit Gums, Fruit Pastilles - weird texture & awful aftertaste.

macncheeeesey · 24/02/2023 19:34

Galaxy chocolate tastes weird these days, plasticky. Most chocolate these days in fact!

Slutdrop · 24/02/2023 19:35

They've totally messed up sugar puffs. They were lovely before, now they should just be called 'puffs', as they definitely don't contain sugar any more.

MavisMcMinty · 24/02/2023 19:38

Cadbury’s creme eggs are disgusting since they changed the chocolate.

WhiskersPete · 24/02/2023 19:53

Products I used to love but no longer buy due to recipe changes:

Ribena - sweeteners
Cadbury chocolate - too much palm oil and sugar
Fruit Gums - vegan recipe has completely ruined the texture

PicklesAndTequila · 24/02/2023 19:55

Yes!
I have to check everything now for sweeteners, even savoury foods.

Applesandcarrots · 24/02/2023 19:58

You can tace begining of shittiness to when Mondelez aquired some companies

stayathomer · 24/02/2023 20:04

I’ve found my people! Do you have rolos in the uk?( apologies if you invented them!) When they messed with them they broke my heart. Same with monster munch. And Coke Zero is not the same as coke!

If I really like anything from M&S you can guarantee they’ll change it and it’ll be worse. Chicken liver pate, tuna pate and smoked salmon pate are cases in point. Chicken liver pate needs two things to make it proper - garlic and brandy/sherry - and you’d be amazed at how unusual it is to find a chicken liver pate these days with one of those essential ingredients, never mind both. Yes I can make my own, but trimming chicken livers is really gross and I’m really shit at it.

My favourite M&S sandwich a few years ago was tuna salad in wholemeal/seeded bloomer, so of course they noticed how often I bought it and discontinued it.

Years ago our Saturday lunchtime treat was M and S Singapore Noodles if they were on offer. I bought them recently and couldn't believe how bland they tasted.

They haven't touched salt & vinegar Squares have they? 😱

No they are still good and love the disco crisps

Tessabelle74 · 24/02/2023 20:09

Yep! Every time a brand I like pops up with the "new improved recipe!" you just one they've ruined it!

I think galaxy tastes the same

I used to eat everything that everyone has mentioned, but I now very rarely eat ultraprocessed food and drink.

I actually think that everything mentioned should not be sold at all as it is so bad for us and is killing us.

So it is good that people don't like the taste any more.

I was thinking the same thing. It is all processed rubbish that is being messed about with. It is all crap. No loss in not eating it.

Twilight7777 · 24/02/2023 20:11

I find the sweeteners in everything horrible, surely health wise sugar is safer than a chemical that we don’t know the long term effects of?!

Agree with this, had some the other day, managed one biscuit and the others got given away. Gross!

Pilgrims Choice Mature - not the extra mature. It melts fine and I chucked some in cheese sauce last night and no graininess at all

Mine at the moment is walkers salt and vinegar crisps. They taste boring now. Now real taste to them

Not as bad as their cheese and onion one's.
Hardly any flavour now. IMO doesn't really taste anything like they used to.
