Boris Johnson wants a 2nd bash at being PM. We wouldn't. Would we?

Today BJ is stirring up the DUP to oppose Sunak's N Ireland proposals, whatever they may be. Surely there can't be a second chance for the idiot responsible for our current mess? There aren't enough stupid people in our country to let him in again I hope. Will he unseat Sunak?

His behaviour is incomprehensible to me. A huge majority spaffed up the wall as he might say. And look at the state of this country now. Every institution is on its knees. This is what Churchill lite has given us. Just grab it and run and to hell with everyone else.

Poland was the first to help Ukraine, Bojo dived in because he saw an opportunity, he d have backed Russia otherwise

Nonsense - why would he back Russia?

The UK was the first country in Europe to send military aid to Ukraine, sending thousands of NLAW anti-tank missiles early in 2022.

Poland's former Minister of Defence, former Foreign Minister and MEP - Question Time Feb 2022;

"Credit where credit is due."
"Boris' decision to send anti-tank weapons to Ukraine was brave and timely."
"His decision to send British troops to Poland was also good."
"Hearing him in the last few days on Ukraine, I wish we had him on the European Council arguing for proper sanctions."

Ah @Clavinova I think you missed my question yesterday. Were the children of single mothers a problem in your opinion in 2015? A simple yes or no will suffice.

They are a problem apparently in 1995, but by 2005 only those who were poor were a problem. Can't help wonder what had changed in those ten years.

His second wife was being treated for cancer when he took up with Carrie. I’d hardly call that the behaviour of a gentleman.

Not this again - Marina Wheeler was diagnosed with cancer the year after she separated from Boris Johnson and some months after she had obtained a decree nisi in divorce proceedings.

Can you hear me women? All those kids, it's your own fault, nothing to do with ruthless and feckless penis owners abandoning responsibility because they can.

You are getting a bit carried away - four of Boris Johnson's children had reached adulthood when he 'abandoned responsibility' for them and he is still living with his two youngest children as far as I am aware.

LexMitior · 21/02/2023 20:12

@longwayoff yes, he failed in victory. I think probably his cabinet were just very poor. He had alienated most of his really capable colleagues before he won. And he did need better people than Priti Patel, Braverman and Truss. They were not good enough. Brexit was the biggest political change for fifty years - he appointed people like Nadine Dorries. He knew better than that I am sure, but it meant his government was never competent.

It's easy to campaign. It is easy to break things. It is very very hard to build, and you need a good team. He didn't do that.

But a good team, might have pointed out to the Emperor sooner that he had no clothes.

Good thing he actually listened to the MoD because he claimed that tank battles were a thing of the past just before the invasion.

I thought we were talking about single teenage mothers in any case - with no job prospects, living in inner city estates - clearly not ideal for all concerned.

@Clavinova no you were being offensive about all single mothers yesterday. Quite how that fits in with your hero Boris creating several single mothers I am not sure.

Are you ready to discuss how many children it is appropriate for someone to have, given the increasing world population and the challenge of all the consuming humans seem to need to do @Clavinova ?

There was an interesting article linked yesterday on the topic, would you like me to post the linky again?

I think the discussion was whether millions should be spent on new tanks for the UK - I don't think that decision has been made yet by anyone.

That was your association with single mothers.

Did you still think that in 2015?

I think I said 7 children from 4 adults was fine with regards to birth rate.
I'm not sure I can be bothered to go over it again - you are boring me.

You are right, he publicly mocked Tobias Ellwood, the Conservative MP and chairman of the Defence Select Committee, for expressing concern about cuts to British military capabilities.

He was wrong

For clarity @Clavinova , yesterday you were sure that it is acceptable for a father to have 7 children, is it also acceptable for a mother to have 7 children?

So you think the population doubling nearly every generation is ok.
Seems that you do not agree with the author of this article.

After 13 years of cuts, she might have to.

This really is the trouble. Alastair Darling has been Chancellor continuously for the last 13 years and each year his aim has been to cut the public sector by more than the previous year, starting with cuts bigger than Maggie Thatcher milk Snatcher.

Clearly Alastair Darling didn't read that memo has he continued with his tax rises and public service cuts more severe each year after 2016 as well.
