To wonder why nobody is talking about the excess death rates

Sotiredofallthisnonsense · 18/02/2023 09:39

That's all really. It's not just the UK - so NHS and strikes etc won't account for similar or significantly worse death rates in other areas of the developed West.

There is very very little media attention on this. Am I being unreasonable to wonder why?

I’m not sure if the elephant in the room people are talking about is Covid itself or the vaccine. But if it’s the vaccine (which I doubt is responsible for excess deaths) what do people think death rates would have been like from covid with no vaccine?

Exactly. As a scientist and vaccine fan I do agree it looks as though the covid vaccine has some side effects in a minority of people (like myocarditis). But these side effects are far less severe than the side effects and excess deaths that we would be seeing if we hadn’t vaccinated against covid so it’s a necessary risk.

Fuck off, it was cancer. Sudden, devastating cancer.

Go take your agenda elsewhere.

lljkk · 18/02/2023 13:34

This news story has been covered since late 2022.
I can post links, there are buckets of them.

MatronicO6 · 18/02/2023 13:35

The excess deaths and temporary morgues have been reported in few news outlets. The deaths have been attributed to many factors including:

Staffing crisis in NHS
Ambulance wait times
A&E wait times are the worst since records began
Delays in diagnosis due to pandemic
Increased poverty
Cuts to social care funding

The reason the media is likely not bringing attention to it, is they are mostly right wing rags that refuse to acknowledge the true scale of harm the Tory government has done to this country.

Everyonehasavoice · 18/02/2023 13:36

Ps. Here’s just some quick headlines from medic research

To wonder why nobody is talking about the excess death rates

mamabear715 · 18/02/2023 12:59

@MarshaBradyo I totally agree. Thank you to the wonderful people who put their all into the vaccines. I am still wearing masks in public places, otherwise what was the bloody point in them trying to protect us..

Tbh I feel slightly differently here as I’m grateful also for no measures including not using a mask

But I will join you in the thanks as without vaccines we’d have been in a different place

So1invictus · 18/02/2023 13:39

"Your vitriol is completely understandable. To wonder if there is even the slimmest chance it may have been as a result of vaccine injury is unthinkable. I would be in denial too."

Shame on you @FannyChmelar If you have any decency you'll get that deleted. How dare you.

@MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel so sorry.

Hear hear @So1invictus
Disgusting post @FannyChmelar It's possible to disagree with people without being vile and cruel.
Deepest condolences @MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel
And to anyone else who has lost people as a result of any cause

Absolutely 💯 % spot on (IMO)
just to reiterate from an earlier post, I work in a funeral home, and we’re busier than we’ve ever been. Stretched to capacity I’d say. Many weeks wait for funerals. Mostly elderly, and just one or two with covid.

People die for a million reasons 99.9% not vaccine related.

You are using the sudden death of a mum and a sister to attempt to further your ridiculous agenda. And even when told it was nothing to do with vaccines you attempt to convince people it's some kind of gas lighting.

You are a horrible person.

SpringDaffy · 18/02/2023 14:06

HoboHotel · 18/02/2023 13:06

There are no excess deaths. You're talking bollocks.

Head. Bury. Sand. Springs to mind 🤣

WilsonMilson · 18/02/2023 14:08

SpringDaffy · 18/02/2023 13:02

This.
💯
Elephant in the room.
We all know really don't we.

@SpringDaffy @FannyChmelar it’s heartening to know that there are at least some people on here not suffering from the cognitive dissonance it must take to be ignoring or denying this now.

WalkingOnTheCracks · 18/02/2023 14:09

Whatsuppdr · 18/02/2023 13:00

Anything outside the norm. If they expect 4k deaths in a winter but see 12k they'll want to know why there are 8k excess deaths compared to a typical year so plans can be made for if it becomes the norm.

I understand the intention. It's the choice of word that I question...because 'excess' implies 'more than the optimum'.

excess (adj): much more than the desirable or required amount

...when in fact they mean 'more than usual'.

You’re reaching.

This is a thread about excess deaths. People are discussing possible reasons (failing NHS, lockdowns, some people reacting badly to vaccines). People are discussing what sort of deaths: cardiac, stroke, cancers, etc.

Then you brought up your loss and started dropping F bombs. I’ve lost family and friends too, as mentioned, at young ages and I am not afraid to wonder about the possible causes.

If even one of those was from vaccine induced heart issues, then I want to know and I want accountability from governments and pharma.

Yes it could be cognitive dissonance or it could be because my previous posts are all in the process of being deleted.

Ah well, I guess the choice to get vaccinated or not was a pretty deadly IQ test, whichever side of the fence you’re on. Time will tell.

FannyChmelar · 18/02/2023 14:18

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 18/02/2023 12:46

Developing the vaccine was sped up - not rushed. Massive difference.

Usually once 1 stage is finished the people have to bid to get some more money, this process can take 1-2 years. They didn’t need to wait and go through the bureaucracy of bidding for grants. Then tests that would have happened consecutively happened concurrently, greatly reducing the time of development. No steps were missed out, or rushed, it was just what happens when money and people are thrown at a problem.

Vaccines taking so long usually is much slower as there is less money and less people working on them.

Great. Sped up. Not rushed.

How did they speed up checking the 2+ year impact on human trials?

FannyChmelar · 18/02/2023 14:23

Can someone @mnhq direct me to which talk guidelines were broken by my comments?

I offered condolences for a tragic loss.

I questioned the posters swearing and obvious anger.

This sort of censorship only makes me want to polish my tin foil hat a bit more 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think you're reading too much into it. Excess in this instance means more than normal/accounted for

MeganTheeScallion · 18/02/2023 14:33

@FannyChmelar your posts were deleted because they were:

  1. Baseless fake claims
  2. Cruel towards other posters
  3. Combo of the above

Why are you trying to make this discussion about 2 "sides", about absolutes, a binary either/or? It's not okay what you're doing, and it's not okay how you're doing it.

It’s also the standard terminology used by epidemiologists. It’s not a word that has been plucked out of thin air.
