To wonder why nobody is talking about the excess death rates

Sotiredofallthisnonsense · 18/02/2023 09:39

That's all really. It's not just the UK - so NHS and strikes etc won't account for similar or significantly worse death rates in other areas of the developed West.

There is very very little media attention on this. Am I being unreasonable to wonder why?

There’s no narrative. I sincerely hope that the uptick is from depressed immunity from lockdowns and/or illnesses being picked up too late.
But if it’s not, I think we need to be able to have an open discussion.
Most of my friends and family took the Moderna or Pfizer Covid vaccines so I am very worried about them and hope the apparent excess death rates are not from vaccines injuries.

There are no excess deaths as has been pointed out multiple times.

Vaccine injuries from the covid vaccines are almost non existent.

Your friends and family will not die or become ill because of having been vaccinated against covid. As almost everyone in the country has been.

WilsonMilson · 18/02/2023 09:52

I’m with you op, the global excess deaths (ONS data from UK and world stats for global) are very worrying indeed.

Mumsnet isn’t the platform for this discussion though, if anyone dares to utter anything negative about certain medical interventions used over the past couple of years on here, they are immediately shot down and labelled a looney conspiracy nut.

All you will get on here is loads of other justifications, many of them also correct, but apparently we are continuing to ignore the bloody massive elephant in the room. I don’t generally bother talking about it on here because it’s honestly not worth the hassle.

This.

FannyChmelar · 18/02/2023 12:36

Fair point.

Clearly you’re vaccinated and the thought that maybe, just maybe, something might not be totally kosher with the vaccines is a little unsettling.

They were rushed (yes, I know they’ve been working on vaccines for coronaviruses for decades - without prior success) and in 10 years we will be able to look back and see more clearly.

In the meantime I hope you don’t find the ticking too annoying. Good luck!

Weirdly gleeful.

TheKeatingFive · 18/02/2023 12:46

so they aren't wearing masks then, agreed?

No, masks are sensible in crowded areas which aren't well ventilated. For example NHS staff working on covid wards with well fitting PPE didn't all catch covid which shows they work.

There are plenty of photos of Davos that show that they had air filtration and open windows. If you don't let aerosols build up in the air you don't need a mask to stop them getting into your body.

As you know can you please show cold hard facts and proof to support your claim?

mamabear715 · 18/02/2023 12:57

@RosaMoline Thank you for your input. I'll take your word over most folks'. I think it was @humpty74 who mentioned the air filtering etc to protect MP's. I also understand this to be true.
@Streamside & @jays I think you both mentioned relatives in hospitals - huge hugs, this IS the kind of thing that's happening. Thank goodness my sis & I got our Mum into a wonderful care home (Alzheimers) but when she arrived, she's been given other people's medication to take with her from hospital.. WTF? How hard can it be to find the right ones? The nursing home staff were horrified. If anyone can justify this, I'd like to hear it.

I've not been feeling well & saw a lovely GP last week, & was given antibiotics. After the very first dose, I felt SO much better. Finished the course, & the lurg came back. Saw a different GP who just could not be bothered, quizzed me as though hoping to catch me out on something? Wouldn't give me any more antibiotics, & when I asked for a BP test that the other GP had requested, told me to make an appt with a nurse or do it myself in the pharmacy.
The last times I've had it done, the HCA has had to do it three times to get a proper result. I don't think a pharmacy would appreciate that.
Now I'm feeling awful but demoralised. I'll have to be at death's door to go back.

Agree with every word you’ve said. I’m so tired right now I don’t have the energy to write it all myself but you’ve put it beautifully and it’s true. Thank you for the hugs too, very kind and much appreciated. I could burst into tears right now just thinking about it all and how many people don’t know some of the stuff that’s genuinely happened/happening.

MichaelFabricantWig · 18/02/2023 13:06

I’m not sure if the elephant in the room people are talking about is Covid itself or the vaccine. But if it’s the vaccine (which I doubt is responsible for excess deaths) what do people think death rates would have been like from covid with no vaccine?

Everyonehasavoice · 18/02/2023 13:06

mamabear715 · 18/02/2023 12:59

@MarshaBradyo I totally agree. Thank you to the wonderful people who put their all into the vaccines. I am still wearing masks in public places, otherwise what was the bloody point in them trying to protect us..

Absolutely
We still wear masks, the only ones here it seems, even at the gps no one was wearing a mask and no open windows just air conditioning recirculating the air🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have noticed whilst wearing a mask that people give us a wide birth, one lady even covered her mouth when she saw me. So clearly alls good, everyone thinks we ve got covid so they steer clear. Lots of cases, no ones testing
So keep as safe as you can….

People still dying of covid.

It’s a new reality and seems here to stay the excess deaths will / have become the norm ( exactly what the given intended all along ) which is why no one’s talking about it.

FannyChmelar · 18/02/2023 12:56

All very true.

But what level of funding can speed up time to check on 5-10 year long term impacts on human trials?

The vaccine that became the AZ vaccine was being developed for many many years. Scientists were quietly working day in day out to develop a vaccine against what they thought would be an Ebola like disease that if unstopped could kill millions. The hypothetical disease was known as disease X.
Disease X turned out to be COVID. The vaccine which was already in existence and had been for years became AZ.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 18/02/2023 13:08

FannyChmelar · 18/02/2023 12:24

I started off thinking of the 3 who were in their late 30s/40s. Then I remembered the 17 yo so added him in. So that’s 4. I don’t count the ones in their 70s as that age is to be expected. Although they did drop dead from massive heart attacks.

I’ve just remembered another man who was 51, but friend of a friend.

Anyway, these are real people who’ve lost their lives and devastated their families.

You’re lucky if you don’t know a few people who’ve died before their time in the last couple of years. Good for you.

I was never “anti vax”. I used to get the flu vaccine like clockwork every year starting in my 20s. I just had a really bad feeling about the Covid vaccines. At one point I was going to get the AstraZeneca but then it was withdrawn in a few countries so that put me off it.

I know one person who died of Covid and many others who appear to have had untimely deaths.

I understand the reactions of the vaccinated in the sense that they are responding with such vitriol through fear. What else can it be?

Actually my sister died suddenly last year at 43yo orphaning her two boys so you can fuck right off with your passive aggressive "good for you".

MeganTheeScallion · 18/02/2023 13:08

@FannyChmelar Eek, please be careful, you'll do yourself a mischief with all that reaching!

Where someone has died youngish with no prior health issues it is horrible wondering if it was completely natural or whether the vaccination was involved. The not knowing for sure is awful.

I’m sure there are a few people reading this thread who might think twice about people they know who’ve passed in sudden and untimely circumstances.

milkyaqua · 18/02/2023 13:09

We all know really don't we.

Well, we know that Covid is not merely a respiratory virus. We know that it has multi-system inflammatory effects, that some people are more susceptible to. We know that as well as the lungs, the heart, kidneys, brain, guts, and the endocrine systems can have long term issues, post infection with Covid-19. We also know that flu season has been intense in the southern and now northern hemispheres. We know that many cancers, eg, have been left undiagnosed and hence untreated until later stages over the last few years.

But I'm guessing quite a few on this thread are rolling out a fresh sheet of tinfoil right now...

MeganTheeScallion · 18/02/2023 13:10

"The vaccinated", like it's an identity. 🙄

milkyaqua · 18/02/2023 13:11

Oh, yes, and Covid itself. Still here, still mutating, still killing people.

@FannyChmelar yes it was awful when these people I knew died of Covid after being totally healthy. Needless deaths caused by people like you spreading anti vax bullshit.

But you’re ignoring me because it doesn’t fit your nonsense.

Vaccination rates are going down across the board because of the nonsense that’s been spread about vaccines since Covid. Many more people will die because they are not accessing life saving vaccinations.

Makes me so fucking angry.

milkyaqua · 18/02/2023 13:14

To wonder if there is even the slimmest chance it may have been as a result of vaccine injury is unthinkable.

Gosh it must be so hard to get through life without a brain.

fiftiesmum · 18/02/2023 13:14

We are now entering an era where the post war baby boomers are reaching old age (75-80+) and are "sadly" more likely to die.
Health measures - reduced smoking, seat belts, statins, etc etc and dare I say vaccination (from polio to pneumonia) have prolonged lives and believe it or not we all have to go eventually.
As for pop up mortuaries - it has always surprised me that for such similar countries that in UK there is a two-three week wait for funerals while across the water it is all done in 24 hours or so

HPFA · 18/02/2023 13:14

Fingers crossed, I don't know anyone among my friends, family or work colleagues who has died unexpectedly.

So anti-vax people should stop worrying as personal experience is everything right? Or does mine not count?

I recall in the early days of covid ( and my cousin was one of these ) people were having sudden heart attacks. Also reported in the US. It was found that covid causes heart attacks.

milkyaqua · 18/02/2023 13:20

Baby boomers are in fact between 59 and 77 years old.

overworkedovertaxed · 18/02/2023 13:21

Once exposed to one or more doses of a vaccine, we typically remain protected against a disease for years, decades or even a lifetime.

We have become used to the decades/lifetime from HPV and TB preventatives.

I do think that the term 'vaccine' for these 'experimental vaccines' has been unhelpful - to medics, researchers and civilians alike - in managing expectations. The level of protection that they confer is probably greater than we could reasonably expect given their greatly accelerated development and delivery.

For the record, I've happily accepted every Covid jab I've been offered.
