To think a cucumber should be

AnnoyedFromSlough · 06/02/2023 15:18

Longer than my (size 5) foot?

Just taken in my tesco delivery and I have been delivered a cucumber that is literally the same length as my foot.

I need to pay more attention when I'm taking my shopping in!

Is this some sort of weird foot porn?

ShirleyPhallus · 06/02/2023 15:19

omg this thread should have a trigger warning, that imagine is strangely revolting 😷

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 06/02/2023 15:21

🤢 I hate cucumber.
Almost as much as gherkin...

Although we do have the same choice of sock. Grin

RomansTheyGoTheHouse · 06/02/2023 15:23

That's how big cucumbers grow.

If you want one especially big, then you need to order a large cucumber, I think.

NetballHoop · 06/02/2023 15:23

I'm a fan of small cucumbers. We struggle to finish a long one before it goes soft.

That's what she said 😂

AnnoyedFromSlough · 06/02/2023 15:24

Haha, sorry folks! I did consider trying to find something else to measure it against but they are basically the same length.

Nope, this is the same as my usual order and they are usually at least two inches longer than this.

That probably wouldn't satisfy me but I wouldn't admit that to my husband.

LaurieFairyCake · 06/02/2023 15:28

Perfect dildo

Not a great cucumber...

Oops. I should read my posts back to myself before clicking submit.

Maybe this needs to be moved to the sex topic..
Delia would never converse about such things.

Rattymare · 06/02/2023 15:32

In Aldi on Saturday, they were all short like that.

DontStopMeNow7 · 06/02/2023 15:35

This post did not go the way I was expecting…

Inkypinkee · 06/02/2023 15:36

Whats the girth like though? It might be shorter but maybe you still get the same amount of cucumber as it’s a fat one?

maddy68 · 06/02/2023 15:38

You know cucumbers are natural products and they come inany different sizes?

Namechangehereandnow · 06/02/2023 15:43

Really?? Shame on the farmer for not trying harder to grow more acceptable produce for you 🙄

BarbaraofSeville · 06/02/2023 15:47

I think if we actually got cucumbers how they 'should' be we wouldn't have any at all until about August, so at this time of year, we should be grateful for any at all, however big/small they are.

You know that supermarkets try to keep the produce on sale fairly standard as far as sizing goes, using the ones outwith that for their prepared food (like salads, sandwiches etc) - don't you? So they can charge per item rather than charge by weight, making the pricing cheaper and easier to do?

It is pretty girthy to be fair...

That picture is weirdly disturbing.

Is that how you measure everything?

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 06/02/2023 15:51

This is hilarious 😂

Somehow I get the impression that you are taking my post slightly more seriously than I am.

Have you been in a supermarket recently? Cucumbers for the past couple of weeks have been tiny compared to their usual size. I imagine the farmers aren’t best pleased either, but they’re not exactly growing them small on purpose 🙄
