Longer than my (size 5) foot?

Just taken in my tesco delivery and I have been delivered a cucumber that is literally the same length as my foot.

I need to pay more attention when I'm taking my shopping in!

Have you been in a supermarket recently?

Yes. Four days a week, sometimes five if I'm doing overtime. This is definitely the shortest cucumber I've seen though.

I challenge you to grow a longer one in February! It's either endured a long and resource hungry trip from the southern hemisphere or more likely come from southern Europe/north Africa where it's way out of season and needed serious greenhouse management to ripen at this time of year.

What size shoe do you take?

Very poor show, I just measured my size 5 foot against our cucumbers and all were at least a size 9 shoe I would say

YABU, OP! THIS is what we voted for in 2016!! It was absolutely crazy that the EU was telling us how powerful our vacuum cleaners had got to be, what size our cucumbers had got to be, and all that kind of thing!!

Fortunately now, if you don't like the size you have the freedom to grow your own.

Op it does seem small, we get through 2 a week, would be more like 3 if they were all as tiny as that one.

Ah, but the two inches longer would make it the shortest normal cucumber - hence the 'at least' - some would be way more than that! I bet you could get more than one lunch worth of sandwiches from two inches!
