I know this is a bit of a cheek, but I'm curious to know, ok maybe to see where I fall to in the range of answers.
Are people generally on the lower side, higher side, in the middle and are you happy, trying to lose, trying to gain, counting calories or couldn't care less?

Somewhere in the 27-28 region. I used to obsessively benchmark BMI, now I don't care and don't check my weight. I've had a baby recently and things will take a while to get back to normal. When my BMI was 22/23 I was in my early twenties and obsessed with dieting on and off. Honestly I feel like I have a much better and more relaxed approach to food, even if I do overdo it sometimes.

DorothyBinns · 06/02/2023 11:22

26, down from 30 this time last year. 10lbs left to lose.

DillDanding · 06/02/2023 11:23

21.3. A good place for me.

RubyPip · 06/02/2023 11:23

23.5 but I do a lot of weight training. Size 10. I'd like to lose a stone, now I'm getting older I'm getting a bit lumpy around the middle and gained 3kg this past year...

gwenneh · 06/02/2023 11:26

Mine is 22. Still don’t feel great about it, even though it’s perfectly healthy.

forfuckssake23 · 06/02/2023 11:26

22-23 ish. Size 10-12. Still trying to tone up after dc2 who is now almost 2.

emmathedilemma · 06/02/2023 11:27

24.3 (size 10 top / 12 round my middle) would like to lose a bit more but i focus more on how my clothes fit

Splodgerbodgerbadger · 06/02/2023 11:29

21.5 I’m happy at this. I was 27.8 nine years ago and not happy so I was more careful with my diet and started the couch to 5K.

JodiePants · 06/02/2023 11:30

Mine is 27. I had a baby a few weeks ago so could blame it on that but my BMI was 26 before getting pregnant.

tirednewmumm · 06/02/2023 11:30
  1. Higher than normal as I've been coping with a bereavement with chocolate and wine Blush normally hovers around 26
Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday · 06/02/2023 11:30

26 down from 32.5 just over a year ago

Sazzling · 06/02/2023 11:32

I don't know and I don't want to know. It's pretty high though as I can't seem to stop eating.

How do I stop? Like actually, literally, how? I can read all the lovely internet articles I like, but soon enough the mind tricks wear off and I'm eating again - and with vigour as though to make up for all the abstinence.

Writing this has made me pause and realise how f'ing sad and broken I am about it all.

2crossedout1 · 06/02/2023 11:32

I hover between overweight and obese (28/29/30). I would theoretically love to lose a couple of stone, but I am not actively dieting at the moment.

I'm healthy and active in other ways (I go running twice a week, can run 10k no problem) and my teenage kids are all slim and sporty, so hopefully I'm doing some things right.

NetballHoop · 06/02/2023 11:32

21.4 but I really need to start exercising.

Mouk · 06/02/2023 11:33

Mine is 37. I need to lose 5 stone. Rejoined a group last week and I've lost 8lbs my first week. Lots to go.

SlaveToTheVibe · 06/02/2023 11:34

38

Do I win? Maybe if I’m the biggest I’ll get off my enormous backside

Icecreamandapplepie · 06/02/2023 11:35

I'm 44 and would like to lose a stone.

Seasonofthewitch83 · 06/02/2023 11:37

Mine is 40.

No plans to actively lose weight.

Orangebadger · 06/02/2023 11:37

Around 24/25. Previously 22 but then kids and hypothyroid came! But I had gone up to 28, so I'm ok with 24 for now.

Springbreakwoohoo · 06/02/2023 11:37

Absolutely no idea. We have no scales in the house. As long as my clothes keep fitting. If they leave marks I try and cut down or go up a size

Walkacrossthesand · 06/02/2023 11:38

I'm post menopausal and losing height, which is bloody unfair cos it gets harder and harder to keep BMI down. I'm broad shouldered & muscled, so I was slim at BMI 27 a few years ago. Same weight is now BMI 29 😡

I mean.. you HAVE to eat!

Restriction is why diets fail.

Look at intuitive eating instead, you may have more luck?

Tinkerbellflowers · 06/02/2023 11:39

20.1. Would ideally like to gain a few more lbs. Am usually a bit higher, but have been unwell.

WeWereInParis · 06/02/2023 11:39

16.8. I've always been slim like this, struggle to gain weight, but it doesn't cause me any health issues that I'm aware of - I could definitely be fitter though. I also have to eat quite often or I get a bit shaky. I wouldn't mind gaining weight, it would be easier to find clothes. But it's not something I'm actively trying to do, but nor am I actively trying to maintain this weight.
