Well he certainly has everyone talking! And I think that is precisely what he was going for... well done all, it worked! I have two minds about this video.
As a liberal I believe that everyone has the right to do, say and think what they want - as long as it does not harm another person. Now we know that parents have responsibility for ensuring children don't watch inappropriate content, it isn't the role of a creator to police/censor themselves in case people get to see it who shouldn't. I don't mind boundary pushing; heck some of my behaviour in my younger years would make your hair curl! But he isn't 20 anymore either.
His behaviour over the past few years has been somewhat erratic and I suspect he has some fairly weak people around him who aren't willing to stand up and say what they think. That or his whole social circle is just as disturbed as he is and thinks that this sort of video won't receive a huge backlash. Though to be honest any press is good press if it gets eyeballs on his music.
AND I am a bisexual man. I know that there will be some idiots out there who will conflate his video and the behaviour in it to be a reflection of the "gay" lifestyle. I find any gay/bisexual figure who acts like this in public to be revolting, simply because I have been on the receiving end of horrific abuse in the 1990s because of my sexuality. I see the likes of Julian Clary and now Sam Smith and it makes me think “you are really not helping society to accept gay people”. Even those like David Walliams who plays effeminate for laughs drive me to despair.
I do think he is an early death waiting to happen, unfortunately. His behaviour is ringing HUGE alarm bells and someone should ideally have a gentle word in his ear because given his age, sexuality, gender identity, fame etc he is a tragedy waiting to happen.
