Why do people keep voting the tortes in again and again

Thomasina79 · 29/01/2023 18:34

Not wanting an argument, just wondering. Another Tory has been dismissed for dishonesty and day after day we hear of stories about people having to choose between heating and eating. Surely people realise we need a change of government? The NHS and other support services such as teachers are on strike. What next?

Completely agree that the NHS under Blair was a peak, except PFI but those were bad contracts negotiated by civil servants who lacked commercial acumen, as most do.

And I agree with @Blossomtoes that social care provision is a carcrash, but unless/until it's properly addressed by an all party commission, then it's not going to improve.

I completely agree with everything you say there. It’s time the NHS and social care were taken right out of the political arena.

All your sources are biased extreme left wing. Trying to pin CSJ on conservatives is a complete joke because LBC and The Guardian are both jokes.

The tories have been shameful in not coming out and denouncing CSJ as what it is. They are cowards. But not as much as ALL the other parties who promoted it and vilified any denounces.

you can’t pin it on the Tories this time.

CSJ is driven by Queer Theory. Stonewall, BLM, Mermaids they are all in it together. It’s all tied up in the same ideology, which has its roots going back to 1950s USA.

And the little lefty foot soldiers are all over the internet spreading it. Including here.

Calling people ‘stupid’
Telling them to ‘get educated’
‘You’re either with us, or against us’
crying over ‘microaggressions’
Peddling grievance
turning the average man and woman into ‘the enemy’
Weaponising compassion

wake up people.

Horseshoe politics is real.

Is that the latest Tory It wasn't us guv, swear to god. Yes Theresa May announced the Tory policy of doing away with medical checks for transgender, but it was really them 1950s American lot.😂😂😂

tiggergoesbounce · 01/02/2023 17:11

@radrado
Im not quite sure why you think the Tories are proving themselves a better option for women, what have they actually put in place thats proven better for women.

Under the Tories they have diminished womens rights

by proving they think.a man can be a woman by allowing men in women's jails.

They have proven they think a man can be a woman by allowing them in womens spaces.

They are proving they think a man can be a woman by allowing it to be taught so in our schools

They have proven they show a complete disregard for women with the systematic underfunding of womens services across the board

By allowing a woman, who was traumatised by rape to be told she wasnt raped by a man, she was raped by a woman!!!

So please tell me what they have proven to have done to show they respect and value women. Not what you think labour might do, what the tories have, as the people in power, actually done.
Not discussed in parliament and might pass, actually proven to do in their term.

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/02/2023 17:22

@radrado life for UK women is considerably worse now than it was in 2010. The statistics show a practical decriminalisation of rape and sexual assaults, we have reduced access to health care and housing, no confidence in the police, Austerity and Brexit.

13 years of Conservative government has been disastrous for women.

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/02/2023 17:25

Oh, I forgot: The trans shitshow that the Tory government brought into being.🤨

radrado · 01/02/2023 17:41

Yes fair points- food for thought! I struggle to get past the bullying of women in the Labour Party. But yes you both made good points… @tiggergoesbounce @TooBigForMyBoots

tiggergoesbounce · 01/02/2023 17:47

@rradrado im asking what you think the Tories have proven to have done to benefit women ?

Do you mean you think individual members of the tory party treat women more as equals and with respect?

Florenz · 01/02/2023 17:58

Starmer needs to take better control of his MPs, only today we've had a Labour MP in trouble for calling the Israeli government "fascist".

tiggergoesbounce · 01/02/2023 18:01

Starmer needs to take better control of his MPs, only today we've had a Labour MP in trouble for calling the Israeli government "fascist"

So you believe the tory government to be the lesser racist party ?

Thebestwaytoscareatory · 01/02/2023 13:03

Whaaay you've found some new buzz words to use, well done you. Unfortunately, I'm not offended at all, you can call me the worst thing you can think of if you want, it's all water off a ducks back, as you lot love to say "the words of a sheep are of no concern of a wolf". (I think I've got that quote correct, my elitist is a little rusty.)

I'm glad you think I'm setting a good example by following the guidebook, I'd say the same for you but I'm not overly familiar with the 'how to be a good little elitist puppet guidebook'. Probably because there isn't one now I think about it, you lot just do exactly what you're told without question.

And the reason you don't find many of us on the feminist board is becuase it's filled with small-minded people, hyper focused on a small issue. All there is on there is trans this, trans that, trans whatever, it's boring and largely irrelevant to me. Oh that's right, you've mistakenly assumed my reasons for opposing toryship is grounded in "queer theory" didn't you? It's not, I'm focused on much bigger issues than that.

They think it's all the big Trans Conspiracy. Just because they can't see anything else they think no-one else does either
Almost like it's a phobia .

Floofyduffypuddy · 01/02/2023 18:17

Well last time it was because people didn't want the hard left to get a toe hold in .

I don't think Tories will win again but it depends how convincing Kier is on trans things.

I've got two daughters and that's paramount for me.

Florenz · 01/02/2023 18:26

I never mentioned the Tories.

tiggergoesbounce · 01/02/2023 18:32

@Floofyduffypuddy
Genuinely wondering when you mention the trans debate playing a major issue and laying it at starmers door, when the time comes for starmer to need to put his policies forward, and they are that he doesn't know what a women is, who would you vote for?

Knowing that the tories have proven they think a man can be a woman by

Allowing them men in womens jails, Alllowing a woman to be told she was raped by a man
Allowing men in womens spaces
Allowing it to be taught to our kids that a man can be a wowan
Allowing men to change their birth certificate to womans name.

So the Tories have proven they believe a man can be a woman.

Xenia · 01/02/2023 18:36

For me as a working mother who pays a lot of tax it will always be the party with the lowest tax rates that will get my vote. I am not convinced labour will lower them so I won't vote Labour.

Abhannmor · 01/02/2023 18:37

EffortlessDesmond · 31/01/2023 17:16

Come, come @Abhannmor ... you can hardly say that French politics is dull right now. A million people striking and/or protesting about increasing retirement age to a level where it would be less of a burden on the working young? From 62 to 64, which is still two (soon to be three) years younger than here.

Ah that's my kind of exciting! The UK kind is where a tiny band of maniacs destroy the fabric of society while everyone looks on in mute horror.

The Tories keep increasing tax so you must be politically homeless.

Floofyduffypuddy · 01/02/2023 18:37

Tigger thanks for your genuine question.

It's a big issue that's been done to death on here and I can't type it out. However you have a natural curiosity so that's really good.
I'm sure you will be able to gen up on it all.

tiggergoesbounce · 01/02/2023 18:41

I never mentioned the Tories

Apologies, i thought you were trying to raise racism as a point for you not wanting to vote for labour but would vote for tories.

tiggergoesbounce · 01/02/2023 18:52

It's a big issue that's been done to death on here and I can't type it out. However you have a natural curiosity so that's really good

I'm sure you will be able to gen up on it all

Im not asking you to regurgitate whats been done to death on here or retype anything, im asking your reasoning on it ?

It hasn't been done to death on here with an answer to that question. Ive checked.
Noone seems to be willing acknowledge that the argument is flawed.

You are voting for a party that has proven it believes a man can be a woman.
And then stating you wont vote for someone who doesnt know what a woman is??

tiggergoesbounce · 01/02/2023 18:53

Sorry that last post was for @Floofyduffypuddy

Floofyduffypuddy · 01/02/2023 18:58

Tigger as said it's all been done to death. Use that curiosity and research. It's a nuanced subject and a little tricky to Access/ break through if you are not already aware of it

MarshaBradyo · 01/02/2023 19:02

The FWR board is good for anyone wanting more info

CriticalAlert · 01/02/2023 19:03

IMO you sound quite arrogant and very sure of yourself tbh, and though you look down on others for not thinking the same way you do.

Just illuminating this, as you might not be aware of how your words come across to others.

Er.......you're the one that sounds arrogant. Are you a closet Tory??? The OP is only asking a question. I can answer. People keep voting Tory in the UK because they are a bunch of selfish ignorant twats and 'think' the Tories will keep their taxes low. They couldn't give a sgite if the NHS goes bust until......they need it. We have an extreme right wing media - Daily Heil, Express, Telegraph etc. ...... which denigrate Labour at every opportunity

Florenz · 01/02/2023 19:05

As much as Starmer tries to portray the Labour party as full of normal everyday people, the public perception and the image put across by the right-wing press is that there are a lot of leftist headbangers on the fringes that will try and oust Starmer as soon as they win power, and try to implement their lunatic policies. Starmer needs to shut them down, permanently, make it clear the Labour party is not for them. It's a party for the working people of Britain, how the fuck does the Israel/Palestine conflict fall within the remit of a Liverpool MP? Is everything so good in Liverpool, there are no problems there for her to spend time resolving?

tiggergoesbounce · 01/02/2023 19:09

Tigger as said it's all been done to death. Use that curiosity and research. It's a nuanced subject and a little tricky to Access/ break through if you are not already aware of it

No i think you have misunderstood twice now @Floofyduffypuddy i am aware of the discussion and frequent the boards but again i am asking you why you feel that way?

How can you call yourself someone who will only vote for someone who knows what a woman is, but then actually vote for the party enabling it??????

As all these people using trans as a reason to vote tory evade and refuse to the answer the question when plainly put to them.
