I’m an hour in. it’s a struggle.

I’m baffled at all the Oscar nominations.

Help me. I want to turn it off.

You lasted longer than me!

QueenOfHiraeth · 28/01/2023 20:51

I stuck it out till the end/ It was OK but I don't understand all the nominations either

Prettybutdumb · 28/01/2023 20:53

I had the misfortune to watch it on a long flight, luckily I slept through most of it, but oh my god it’s so crap and hard to watch.

WednesdaysNameIsFullOfWoe · 28/01/2023 20:53

I thought it was brilliant.

PuppyMonkey · 28/01/2023 20:54

DD (15) is here with me and she’s already watched it and says it’s her favourite film. I feel obligated to watch to the end. Shh, she can’t see I’m in MN.

I love it but can see how it wouldn't suit everyone

Greensleevevssnotnose · 28/01/2023 20:55

I enjoyed it very much. Do you usually like sci fi?

SocksAndTheCity · 28/01/2023 20:55

I saw it at the cinema and whilst I'd watch Michelle Yeoh in anything, it was bloody hard work. The last twenty minutes or so redeemed it so it all made sense, if that helps Smile

neverbeenskiing · 28/01/2023 20:55

I loved it! I was completely gripped from start to finish and bawled my eyes out at the end.

Delicatessence · 28/01/2023 20:56

I loved it, amazing film.

yes.

I loved it when I saw it at the cinema, but on a recent rewatch found it quite boring and too long.

Maybe it just works better when immersed completely at the cinema.

Floraanddougal · 28/01/2023 20:58

Wasn’t for me, I think it’s one of those awful movies it’s important for some to pretend it’s awesome. It’s not. It’s shit.

AmandaHoldensLips · 28/01/2023 20:59

I thought it was totally insane - like a bonkers kung fu movie. My favourite thing was the bagel but I didn't understand any of it.

touterustome · 28/01/2023 20:59

Acting was great. Film needed an enormous edit and less ego from the directors. The moral point was hammered home to a painful extent and it wasn't even original. A missed opportunity I thought

Ah, the first 'My Opinion And Actual Fact: The Difference Between The Two' fail of the thread. I'm sure we can look forward to a few more 😊

NomadicSoul · 28/01/2023 21:02

I thought it was garbage myself... Or at least the 40 minutes or so that I could stand. I was really looking forward to it as I like Michelle, but I really didn't like this at all.

PerilousErection · 28/01/2023 21:02

I thought it was deliciously bonkers. I watched it with a friend when from laughing to WTF to WTAF to laughing.

PuppyMonkey · 28/01/2023 21:07

Still going. A bloke has just come flying through the air and landed with his bum on some spiky ornament thing.

Profound.

I thought it was good fun!

NickyNackyNoodles · 28/01/2023 21:08

I love the theory behind it and hoped that the film would enlighten me further.

But it was truly awful!

StrapOnYourHeroHair · 28/01/2023 21:10

I got half way through and switched it off, planning to watch the rest the next day. Never bothered to put it back on.

I was really looking forward to it too!

bewilderedhedgehog · 28/01/2023 21:10

I feel your pain! We watched this on New Year’s Eve. Peter Bradshaw labelled it nothing, nowhere, for a very long time. Terrible film!

cassiatwenty · 28/01/2023 21:11

Turn it off

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2023 21:13

I just found it boring and I lost interest.
Jamie Lee Curtis was funny , but it really wasn't for me at all. Ds2 loved it. (I suspect he read the plot through first !.. )
Spoiler :

The ending was quite touching that she accepted her daughter as being gay , but that was all I took from it really.
